Question:

Hi. I have a new 2017 A4 and would like a trailer hitch for a bike rack. Please advise on how much Fascia trimming is required. Also on what other parts I need for a bike rack. Thank you.

First, for a trailer hitch, I recommend # DT24950 for your 2017 Audi A4. I recommend this one over Curt hitch # C11448 because the Curt hitch requires a stabilization strap, # 18050, when using the hitch with a bike rack and the Draw-Tite hitch does not.

I have included a picture showing where the fascia trimming is required to install the hitch. It is a small section underneath the vehicle that is not visible (unless you are under the vehicle).

This this or any Class I trailer hitch you are limited to a maximum of 2 bikes and the rack will need to be compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. We have a lot of bike racks that will work, see link, but I recommend The Thule Helium Pro # TH9042PRO because it not only looks fantastic but it also has many other useful features.
