Question:

Do you have or know what the factory wiring colours are for a 2016 Ram 3500? I could not get a harness for a 2016. There for I have to wire it into the plug. Thanks

The easiest way to install your Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3024-P. This adapter will not require and cutting or splicing into your 2016 Ram 3500's factory wiring.

If you need to hardwire install the controller, I can help you determine which wire colors carry which functions on the vehicle side brake controller installation port in your 2016 Ram 3500. Since we know which pins carry each function on the custom wiring harness # 3024-P, we can use that to determine the functions of the wires on the vehicle side connector.

I have attached some photos showing which wires carry which functions on the # 3024-P adaptor. One of the photos shows the corresponding function locations on the vehicle-side plug for your Ram.

Using the photo that shows the locations of each wire function on the connector in your Ram 3500, you can check the corresponding wire colors on the back of the connector to determine which functions are carried by which wire colors.

Quick splice connectors will let you more easily tap into these wires to install your Prodigy P3 # 90195. You can use 2 of the # SWC501915-1 quick splice, one for the blue wire and the other for the black wire coming out of the back of the brake controller. For the red and white wires from the brake controller, you can use 2 of the # SWC502905-1 quick splice.
