Question:

I dont have a Kodiak they are 12000 pound Dexter axles with electric over hydraulic brakes. Thanks for your response .

If your disc brakes like the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R35S are not releasing it is likely an issue with the hydraulic actuator. Oftentimes this is the shock of the actuator having gone bad so it won't release all the way, so that would be the first thing to check; you could possibly replace it if that is the case. For example, if you had a Titan Model 60 Actuator you could use the Replacement Shock Absorber for Titan Model 60 Brake Actuators # T2336200.

Thanks for the additional info, and the Kodiak brakes were just an example, the brand doesn't matter although the fact you have electric over hydraulic certainly does. Due to this, if your brakes are not releasing there are a myriad of potential issues you'll need to troubleshoot. It could be the brake controller, so I recommend checking the the wiring, specifically the stop light switch wire to ensure it is not contacting another circuit that carries 12 volt power, which would cause the brakes to constantly be on. This could be the wire being loose or somehow damaged or frayed causing a short. You want to use a circuit tester to ensure this wire only carries voltage when the brake pedal is applied. Also, check your brake lines, and you should probably bleed them to ensure there is nothing that is causing any type of issue.
