Can Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter 118158 Power LED Lights on Trailer

Question:

I need clarification for part number 118158, Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter. The website listing for this item says it will not work on vehicles with LED tail lights. However, the person in the video description of this item says it cannot be used in vehicles with LEDs in a flat tow situation. Does this restriction on LEDs also apply to trailers? Is there a similar converter that can be used for a trailer with LED lights?

Tow Ready Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158 cannot be used with a vehicle that has LED lights because these vehicles' wiring is too light and the power sent to the LED lights is too low to properly operate the converter. It requires the higher strength signals from a vehicle that uses standard more-power-hungry incandescent lights, whose wiring is heavier and whose signals are stronger. If connected to a LED-equipped vehicle the signals from that vehicle would not be strong enough to operate the harness.

However, on the other side, the output side for the trailer, LED lights are ok to use so your trailer that has LED lights will be fine.
