When you’re not towing, you don’t want metal hardware sticking out. This kit’s hidden design keeps things clean by tucking the brackets back behind the grille where they’re out of sight and protected from scrapes. Once the removable drawbars come off, the remaining brackets are practically invisible, preserving a factory look instead of a bulky front end.
Getting hitched up shouldn’t be a wrestling match. The removable arms on this setup slide right into the baseplate brackets, twist to lock, and click securely in place. When you’re done towing, just pull the built-in ring to release and twist them out. It’s simple, smooth, and easy to manage even when you’re setting up alone at the campsite.
Flat towing puts serious stress on connection points, so strength matters. These brackets are computer-cut from all-steel and finished with a black powder coat for corrosion resistance. The design bolts directly to the frame for maximum stability—no welding required—and spreads towing forces evenly across solid mounting points.
This direct-connect system eliminates the extra quick-disconnect crossbar found on other setups. It connects straight to a motor-home-mounted tow bar—like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2—so there’s less hardware to deal with and fewer pieces to store when you’re done towing.
You don’t need a shop lift or welding gear to put this together. The kit bolts onto existing frame points using factory holes wherever possible. It comes with all necessary mounting hardware and clear instructions for a clean DIY installation that feels solid when finished.

These were very easy to install. Basically plug and play so to speak. Joining up my Bricker to my RV is very easy, one person operation. Great product.
After pulling my pickup for the first time, the front bolt of the bracket sheared off.
Had to go in a change the bolts to grade 8 bolts. So far everything has been working fine while pulling my pickup.
Received yesterday, quality looks great; have installed one side. Instructions are fairly good but totally lacking on removal of the 2018 F150 bumper. Access to the bolts inside the frame on the 2018 is very good so used grade 8 nylock nuts instead of the included wire held nuts. Access to hold the full size hex nuts is very good so it was easier to hold the nuts while torquing.
Arrived quickly in perfect condition, install video will be very helpful. Thank you for the quick service!

The removable arms were an absolute pain to install. That might have been different if I had a better drill, but I had to drill holes in extremely thick metal to attach these arms and it took me awhile just to get the holes drilled. I went through bits and oil for hours to get the holes drilled, but I also didn't have the money to spend on buying specific additional tools for the project. The arms work great. Very nice to be able to remove the arms when you're not using them and then you can add them in about 5 seconds each if you need to use them. I installed them on a 2018 F-150 Roush.
Wiring kit and tow brackets showed up on time. Robert was very helpful on the phone. I've also ordered from etrailer many times good company. Install wet very well. Their videos help also sometimes easier than reading directions. Quality of the hardware and base plates and removable arms are well-made.
The installation of the Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plate kit on my 2018 F150 with tow hooks was so far the easiest part of the conversion to making the F150 towable. It only took a couple of hours to complete, a few metric sockets, pry bar, toque wrench, drill and 1/2-inch dill bit is all the tools I needed, along with a helping hand from my wife to remove and replace the bumper.
The proportional breaking never worked right and on our last trip the system kept cutting out until it quit working all together. I was in the southern US and had to drive back to Canada without the aid of the breaking system. i tried to check it out and fix it but was unable to get continuous power to the brake buddy.
Product was very well built and was easily installed with two people. For my 2018 ford f150 I used the direct connect removable arms Rm- 524431-5 and added a cross bar for better stability. e-trailer sales the RM-524431-4 that has the cross bar for the same price. (My mistake and the truck towed better with a Cross bar)
I've been towing a vehicle behind my motor home for the last 12 years. That includes four trucks and one car. Each time I've used Roadmaster Base Plates and a Roadmaster tow bar. I find that when I'm outfitting a new truck for towing, etrailer always has the parts I need (base plates and taillight wiring) at the best prices with the quickest shipping.
Looks very good quality and I like the way it’s mounted in there where the tow hooks were that way it’s inconspicuous.
Bad experience with Roadmaster this time around! I have used their product for 15 years on my Ford Explorer towing behind a 40 foot diesel pusher with no issues. Purchased this set for my 2016 F-150 Limited pickup on line from etrailer and the fit from Roadmaster was terrible!!! the passenger side slide in arm when locked in place with the receiver installed on the vehicle, made the horizontal female cocked to about 25 degrees up from a horizontal plane!!! this meant the arm from my $1200.00 Roadmaster tow arm would not hook up. I had to take to a weld shop to make repairs on the arm to set it in a horizontal position!!! Roadmaster would not believe this was possible to their product said they had only seen this happen once before? It happened before but now you don't believe ME?
I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO INSTALL THEM YET BUT THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE WAS FANTASTIC. THE BASEPLATES ARRIVED DAYS BEFORE I EXPECTED THEM AND I WAS HAPPY TO RECEIVE THEM SO QUICKLY.

The base plates are working great. The only problem is that I dont get to use them enough. I towed about 3,000 miles since my purchase and have had no issues at all.
Just received my base plate and installed. Really satisfied about the look on my 2020 Ford F150.
The moment I received the base plate it took me 2. Hours to install peace of cake good instructions easy to follow extremely happy going on a trip next week thx etrailer job well done
I love the simplicity of my Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit. I was easily able to install it myself. It’s been a year now that I’ve installed them. We’ve traveled across the country several times now without any issues.

Customer service was very helpful. Easy to install. No bumper or grill cutting however, you do loose your front hooks. Nice low profile.

Been down and back from fl. with the my MH, towing is solid as a rock, checked my nuts and bolts at the door, all tight and ready for a trip out to Wy. in August. Highly recommend these base plates and etrailer as the best source for them!
