Question:
I have a 2004 GMC 2500 Hd short box and recently purchased a 2010 Artic Fox 811 slide in camper. I need a trailer hitch extension to pull my 5500 lb boat. What do you suggest. I currently have a hitch on the truck which is oem.

First thing you will need to do is install a hitch with a 2-1/2 inch opening like the Curt Hitch part # C15703 so that you can use a longer hitch extension that is going to have a decent amount of capacity. Then for a hitch extender the part # C45048 would be a great option as it has enough capacity and can be used to give 24 or 34 inches of extension.
