Question:
I have this master cylinder an old one on my 4500lb pole tongue boat trailer. I just replaced all the drum brakes and bearings and bled the lines. The brakes work fantastic, except they surge too much - jerking on/off/on/off action. Any slight downgrade makes the vehicle jerk, sometime even on flat, so its very sensitive. The orifice restrictor is installed and working. The only thing I can think of is a smaller orifice restrictor. I dont think adjusting the springs on the master cylinder would have any impact on excessive surging. My M/C springs are rusty, and Id have to buy a new one to try it. I need to resolve the excessive surging before investing in a weight distribution system as the Reece/surge system is pricey plus id need to buy the pole tongue adapter. If I cant solve it in its current form, Ill need to go with a electric/hydraulic which may change the distribution setup I buy. Any suggestions on how to solve the excessive surging with this type of master cylinder?

What you described sounds like a bad shock in the Titan model 6 actuator you have. For a replacement you would want the part # T1242600 which is a confirmed fit.
Actuators shocks are designed to slow the movement of the actuator so that you don't experience the jerking that you described. When they go back they allow the actuator to move too quickly which causes what you described.
