Thanks for your reply, Jameson. I have a few more questions though, is it possible to plug the vent when the extra air flow isnt desired winter camping? Also would the vent pull in rain or insects? Thanks again ~

You would have to come up with a way to plug the CAM40597 when you didn't want it to be active. It's initial design is for venting plumbing so it doesn't have any type of on/off setting.
It shouldn't pull in rain but if an insect wanted to climb in it there really wouldn't be anything to stop it.
A better solution for you would be the part # VP-543SP that can easily open and close and is better designed for your application.
