Parts Needed To Mount A B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Hitch In The Bed Of A 2019 Ford F-250

Question:

My son bought this hitch for his 2019 Ford F-250 Superduty 6.7l I dont believe it has factory prep package, no pucks without doing any research and am wanting to find out whats needed for install. Or if a different hitch is recommended since he also has a big Rigid Joboxinch in the bed. Thank you in advance, Steve

Hey Steve,

The B&W Patriot # BWRVK3255 you have would require base rails or a gooseneck hitch and an adapter in order to mount to the bed of the F-250. If you want to go with base rails then I recommend the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # BWRVK2402. This comes with custom brackets to match up to the factory holes in your frame to make the installation drastically easier. The Patriot # BWRVK3255 will slot right into the rails and be ready to tow.

If you think you'll also haul a gooseneck trailer at some point and want the versatility you can install a gooseneck hitch like the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1116 and then use an adapter # 16310 to mount your Patriot.

For your specific model there is also the option to install the Reese Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # RP39FR, which would give you a gooseneck hitch and puck system. To connect your Patriot you would just need the Curt # C88KR rail adapter.

Out of the three options I would go with the Reese # RP39FR for the clear bed and versatility to connect to multiple trailers/hitches. Each of these options are going to mount over the rear axle so there is the chance that the job box could interfere with the hitch when mounted since this isn't an 8' bed.

Let me know what you think and we can keep discussing options if these just don't match what you're wanting.

What's the difference between the BWRVK2402 and BWRVK2406?

@SteveA The # BWRVK2402 was replaced by part number BWRVK2406 by the manufacturer. Manufacturers replace part numbers all the time when they make slight changes or to simplify their sku's. There's no difference here in this case, we just have the older part number listed for the same kit.
