Question:
Last year I purchased and installed the #C56225 Kit for my 2007 Nissan Frontier. Within a few weeks of the installation the running/tail lights function of the lighting stopped working while the brake lights and turn signals remained functioning. I assumed the trailer was the culprit bad ground, bulb etc. but after installing an entire new lighting / wiring kit on the trailer not the truck as mentioned previously this past week I noticed that the running/tail lights function is still not working. I checked the plug nearest the hitch where the in line, 4 pin pig tail connects only to discover that I am not getting 12V to that point on the brown wire running/tail lights. NOTE: All other voltages and lighting function are operating as expected. NOTE: All lighting functions operate as expected with different vehicle. Im curious if I have a bad relay? Which one would it be? and Can I get a replacement relay to solve this issue?

Expert Reply:
On some Nissan vehicles there is an additional relay that is needed in the in-cab fuse panel to make it fully functional. It is also possible that, even if all the relays and fuses are in place, that one of them is bad and will need to be replaced. If there is a missing relay then it should be # C57000.
I wasn't able to find a diagram of your fuse box, but I would check any fuse locations dealing with towing or tow package wiring. The best way to test a relay is to replace it with a known working relay.
