Recommended Tire/Wheel Combination For Trailer Smoker

Published 10/09/2015

Question:

Im refurbishing an old 24inch Okahoma Joess trailer smoker, and was interested in one of your wheel/tire combos see attached pic. The trailer currently has 5-lug, 13inch wagon-spoke wheels ... with 5.30–12 tubeless tires, Load Range B. Just wanted to confirm these would work before ordering. Thanks for the help.

From the tire size you said is on the trailer, the tires are 12 inch and would not be a fit for 13 inch wheels. For a tire with the numbers you said, the first number is the width of the tire and the second number is the size tire. I have attached a helpful article about tire size you can check out.

You may be able to put 13 inch tire/wheel combos on your trailer. You will need to know the lug pattern and the pilot diameter, and determine if there is enough clearance with 13 inch wheels installed. I have attached a helpful article that shows how to measure the lug pattern on your wheel.

The tire/wheel combo you referenced, part # AM31245 will measure 6.89 inches wide and will be a little over 24 inches tall. This combo has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and a 3.19 inch diameter pilot. If these dimensions and the lug bolt pattern match your trailer, this combo will work well for you.

If you find that you need 12 inch tire/wheel combos I recommend part # AM31202. This is the same wheel in a 12 inch version. This combo is 5.7 inches wide and when inflated the outer diameter is 21.3 inches. This combo has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the pilot measures 3.19 inches diameter.
