Can a Trailer Tire Safely be Used with Balancing Weight Removed
Updated 09/28/2015 | Published 09/27/2015 >
Question:
Ive taken my brand new Wildwood X-Lite travel trailer on its first camping trip and when I bent down to place the tire chocks, I noticed a metal tab with numbers coming out of the side wall. I pulled it out completely and it has left what it looks like a surgery scar. I can send you photos if you want. Checked all 5 tires and only one more shows the scar but no metal tab. I am very concerned. Whats that and is it safe to drive. Thanks.

It sounds like you pulled off a weight that was used to balance your trailer wheels. Since most people don't balance there trailer wheels you would be just fine without them.
Feel free to send me a picture of the metal tab and I will verify that it is a weight.
