Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Taskmaster Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D, mounted on this 15 inch Vesper silver modular steel trailer wheel with the five on five inch bolt pattern. Now, this tire and wheel assembly is ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. And what's unique on this one, is this assembly, the tire is match-mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride comfort and durability. Now, match-mounting of tires and wheels is a process in which the tire installation position on the wheel is specifically selected to minimize final force of imbalance or to cut down on how much weight is used when you put the balancing weights on there. The method to match-mounting is basically, they align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot, and eliminates most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear.

Then when they do the final balancing, that's done by applying weight to specific spots on the front and even on the back of the wheel to eliminate any chance of uneven wear or vibration. And I just wanna point out, if you look on the front, you can see the weight right here. Spin it around, you can see the weight right over here, so that means this assembly is balanced. Now, the wheel is a steel wheel, has the modular design, and when I say modular design, that's the one that has the round holes all the way around the wheel, it is very sturdy and corrosion resistant. Now, on this wheel, they do use a silver acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes.

The finish is applied after a zinc phosphorate pre-treatment, and then it covers an E-coat primer layer. Gives you excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than a thousand hours. This does also have the beveled stud holes where your lug nuts go to help keep your wheel securely in place on the trailer hub, eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. Now, if you noticed, this does not come with the center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately if you need one.

You do wanna make sure to get a center cap that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole right here, which is 3.31 inches, 'cause your center cap will install through this hole. Now, the tire that's mounted on this, it is a radial tire, it is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life. It's great for highway use, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. It is an ST Tire, which stands for special trailer tire, has the sturdy sidewall, so they could handle heavy loads, and it is created specifically for trailers, it's not intended for use on any other vehicles. Does come with a two-year platinum plus warranty, which will include emergency tire change service and other benefits, and this assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and it does exceed Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Just to go through a few specs on the wheel and then the tire, the wheel, the diameter is 15 inches, the width on just the wheel is six inches wide. This wheel does have a bolt pattern of five on five inches, and if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five, it's pretty easy, what you have to do, pick any hole, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of whatever hole you measure to. So if we put the ruler on this, it'll measure five inches, so it's a five lug, five inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20, and the weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,830 pounds. Now, the tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall, ST for special trailer, 205/75R15, R means that it is a radial tire. Section width, eight inches, overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.2 inches, and as we mentioned, it's a Load Range D tire, which means it's an eight-ply rated tire, has a maximum load capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi. And the last thing I wanna mention to you is all the new trailer tires are coming through with a speed rating on them now, and they stamp that on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where you'll usually find that is right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index, and then the letter M. Speed rating M means that this has an 81 mile per hour speed rating.
