Before uncoupling a 5th wheel trailer from the truck you will need to have the jacks in position so that they are supporting the weight of the trailer. You may or may not have to use the drop legs on the jacks in a system like # LC358590 but doing so will reduce the amount of travel the jacks have to go thus reducing the amount of time it takes to get all the jacks into place.
What I would do is lower the jacks a little first using the motors and then use the drop legs to make contact with the ground. This will allow a little wiggle room should you need it. Otherwise you would not be able to power the legs up should you need to because the inner tube will already be retracted as far as it will go.
