Question:

I have ordered this kit and am waiting for the delivery. I have begun removing the worn gears am having trouble removing the lower gear pin as there is not much room to get at it. What is the best way to remove this pin?

You might be able to get something like a center punch and tap it as much as possible at an angle. That could drive enough of it out the other side to be able to grab it with some pliers or vice grips.

Another possible method would be to get a C-clamp that is both narrow enough to fit and deep enough to reach over the jack outer tube. Then you could place some sort of pointed object between the roll pin end and the clamp. When you tighten the C-clamp it should (theoretically) push the pin out.

I attempted to make a picture of what I mean with the C-clamp.
