Question:
I previously purchased and installed a wiring harness from you:118525 Which works great. Am I correct in assuming that if I want to add the brake-controlling connector I only need to purchase this: 118267 In other words, does the 118525 kit I have cover everything needed for 118267? Thanks!

Since you already have a relay harness installed from the # 118525, you will be able to install the 7-way harness # 118267 in place of the 4-way harness from # C56225.
If you plan on using a trailer with electric brakes, you will need a brake controller to provide braking power to the trailer brakes. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 with Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3050-P. This adapter will plug into a port under the dash of your Xterra and in the back of the brake controller. This port will be located underneath and to the left of the steering column of your vehicle, and will be taped to another harness near the emergency brake.
If your Xterra did not come with the brake controller port, you will need to use the universal wiring adapter that comes with the brake controller and hard wire the adapter into your vehicle's wiring. You will also want to use Wiring Kit # 5506 to install a circuit breaker between your brake controller and battery. I have attached a diagram on hardwiring a brake controller for you.
