Question:

So Jameson C, just to be clear, I need to buy both of these parts # 118281, and # C55774, and the male end of # C55774 fits into the female end of # 118281. And I would scrap the 7 way from # 118281 correct?

You can install both a 4 and 7-way in place of the 7-way kit part # 118281 that fits your 2016 Nissan Frontier. For that you would also need to go with the part # C55774 and install it instead of the included 7-way of the # 118281 and you'd be set.

You are correct in that you do need to go with both the # 118281 and # C55774. The # C55774 fits the some connector as what comes with the # 118281 so you would end up with an extra 7-way once the install is complete. I'd hold on to it as a spare but if you wanted you could throw it away. We don't have a way to swap out the 7-way you wouldn't need for just the one you want though in case that was your next question.
