How necessary is the maxim kit over the solo kit? What are the major differences in performance overall?

The Super Springs SumoSprings Solo # SSF-106-40 is for the front axle suspension of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 or 3500. The SumoSprings Maxim # SSR-336-54-1 is for the rear axle of the 3500.
For your 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500, I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TMBRSP25A. Trimbren's hollow rubber springs will replace the existing axle bump stops and works to increase stability, reduce rear end sag, and extend the life of your suspension.
