Can Dometic RV AC Unit be Used for Just Furnace with Furrion Chill Cube Installed

Question:
Have a Dometic 15k ducted. Just bought 18k furion chill Cube. Will I be able to use the old Dometic thermostat for just the furnace? Or do I need to buy a new single thermostat for the furnace?

Hey Matthew, yes you will be able to reuse the thermostat rom your Dometic setup to operate the furnace of your RV with the Furrion Chill Cube part # FR99TD installed. The Chill Cube was supposed to work with furnaces but at this time they are still waiting on a firmware release for it that will allow the furnace controls to work like they are supposed to.

Yes, you will maintain use of your thermostat. I replaced mt Dometic AC with the Chill Cube. When removing the old unit, just unhook the main power supply from the box in the air handler. Leave everything else and just attach the power supply to the new unit using the supplied parts. The remote will control your AC & the thermostat works the furnace.

We installed the new Furrion Cube and we are using the remote that came with it. We bought a new thermostat but did not install it since we rarely used the furnace. It is working well and installed nicely. My son installed it in just a few minutes.
