Replacement Hubs and Bearings for JetSki Trailer

Published 06/05/2015

Question:

I have a trailer that my jetskis are on. I am not a mechanic but I can move a wrench. The bearings and all the guts inside the hub blew out on a trip home last summer. Im finally getting around to fixing it as the trailer is not drivable. I have the old hub and some pictures of the spindle, Im wondering if someone can look at the pics and measurements to help me find the correct hub assembly?

Feel free to email me your pictures and measurements, I would be happy to take a look at those for you.

In the mean time, since you mention that the bearings blew out, you will want to examine the spindle to make sure that it wasn't damaged. As long as there is no discoloring, scratches, or other damage, you may be able to just replace the bearings, race, and seal. If you are planning to replace your hub, I will cover that as well.

In order to pick out the correct hub assembly for a trailer you are going to need know a few key pieces of information. The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. This is so you get a hub that is compatible with your wheels. I attached a help article on determining bolt pattern for you to check out.

Next thing you will need to know is what spindle you have on your trailer. In order to do that you can either get the inner and outer bearing numbers from a hub or use a digital caliper to get exact measurements of the spindle. The measurements needed are the parts of the spindle where the bearings ride. I have attached a picture for you.

I have also attached three separate links that you can take a look at. One is for replacement hubs, the other for bearings and races, and the last for seals. Once we have all of the measurements/information, the filters on the page can be used to narrow down the results to find the correct parts for your jetski trailer.
