Installation of your brake controller should be very easy with the factory 7-way trailer connector on your vehicle. All you will need to complete the installation is the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter Ford, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercury, item # 3035-S. You will wire the like colors on your brake controller to the plug in adapter and mount the brake controller in an accessible location your installation will be complete. You have the wiring colors and functions correct.

The connector will be located under the dash near the factory diagnostic port usually referred to as the OBD II port.

After you have everything installed you will need to set the brake controller up to work with your trailer and the new vehicles wiring. If you need instructions for your controller let me know what brand and model you have and I will be glad to try to find a copy to send you.
