Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Tekonsha Replacement Prodigy RF Brake Controller Handheld Remote. This is gonna replace a lost or damaged remote for your Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller with the part number that you see on the screen there. So this is going to replace a lost or damaged option or it can be used to add a brake controller to your other vehicles if you're gonna be towing the same trailer with multiple vehicles, such as like for a business fleet or something along those lines. You can have, instead of having to move the controllers from one vehicle to the other, you can leave the controllers in there and just pair them to the trailer each time you need to pull it. This is going to control the power module from your cab for your manual trailer braking.
So it is going to allow you to make sure you're getting the most outta your trailer's brakes. This does have a Bluetooth connection. So it will pair between the unit and your trailer's power module. And because of that, it is only going to work for the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controllers that are manufactured after 2019. That's when they started putting that Bluetooth connection in there.
So if you're needing a controller for the, the models prior to 2019 this will not work for you. But this will function just like the original one that came with your Prodigy. You're gonna plug it right into your 12 volt power adapter so no under dash wiring is gonna be required. And then you've got the LED display here that's gonna show your brake voltage, power output and diagnostics. You've got your manual trigger here, your boost button up here and your power dial on the side there so it's gonna function just like the original.
So, no learning curve to relearn or anything like that. So if you are needing to replace it or add an additional one to your fleet, this is gonna work great for you. Do a great job of allowing you to control those brakes. So that concludes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.

This product is being falsely advertised. Because the manufacturer changed to Bluetooth last year, this cannot be used as a replacement for any prodigy unit older than some time in 2019. I paid rush shipping to get this in time for our trip and it was useless.

This product was a replacement for the Techonsha Prodigy braking system for our trailer; the original one got stolen by a dumb thief.

Thank you for your review. It says in the description that this is a replacement for the Tekonsha Prodigy RF brake controller part # TK94FR. This will not work on older models with no blue tooth technology.
