Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Kuat Transfer V2 ratcheting hooks

The Transfer V2 has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Front-Wheel Cradles with Adjustable Pitch

Kuat Transfer V2 front wheel cradles

In its upright position the front cradles sit at the optimal position for holding normal-size bikes. However, you can adjust the cradles so that smaller bikes sit more toward the center of the rack or to prevent bikes from bumping into each other. To adjust the pitch, use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tabs upside down.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradles

Kuat Transfer V2 rear wheel cradle

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. Strap extenders (sold separately) let you carry fat bikes.

U-Shape Frame

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shape base

Most platform-style racks force you to reach out and over the rack to load your bikes or walk around to the back of the rack to access the bike closest to your vehicle. The U-shaped frame allows you to walk inside the rack and get close to your bikes to lift them. Also, it won't block your backup camera when it's folded up.

Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Kuat Transfer V2 foot lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

Kuat Transfer V2 tilting rackKuat Transfer V2 folding rack

The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.

Easy Installation

Kuat Transfer V2 complete security

The rack is easy to install. Just slide the shank into your hitch and use the included 8-mm Allen wrench to tighten the flatlock cam. An anti-rattle wedge is deployed inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Kuat Transfer V2 indentation

The Allen wrench has an indentation, so it can only be used with the Transfer. This helps keep the rack secure on your vehicle. You'll need to store it in a safe place because you'll need it when you want to remove the rack. You can also use a locking hitch pin (sold separately) for extra rack security.

Kuat Transfer V2 integrated cable lock

The Transfer also includes a cable lock that secures your bikes to the rack. The 1/4" thick, braided steel cable threads through your bike's frames, and locks back into the rack.

  • Why Won't Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack Work On Motorhome
Hi Larry; the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack # INH120 won't work on your Forest River Forester MBS because Inno didn't design or rate it that way. There are additional forces applied to bike racks on the back of a Class A and Class C motorhome so it is important to have this rating. Could you put it on the back? Sure, but I don't think you would be happy if it failed and you lost your bikes and rack. Are you looking for a bike rack with that specific wheel mount style? If so, you can use the...

  • Guide for Trimming Rear Bumper for 2017 Chevy Bolt EV EcoHitch Install
Hey Bruce, thanks for reaching out, that's a great question! The instructions for the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7359 does have provisions for cutting out a section of the bumper on your 2017 Chevy Bolt EV. I would post them here but EcoHitch is really weird about posting their instructions publicly so I'll send them to you in a separate email and I'll attach out installation video of this same hitch on a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV where you can see out team making the bumper...

  • Is Benton LittleShift Bike Rack Rated for Trailers
Hi Dick; the Benton LittleShift Bike Rack # B54VR cannot be used on an RV, trailer, or towed vehicle. Trailer rated bike racks are pretty limited, so you would have to use a 2-bike rack like the # KU84FR if you want to put it on the trailer towed behind your motorhome. Are you carrying a regular bike or an e-bike? If it is a heavier e-bike the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR would be a better choice with an RV capacity of 70 lbs per bike. If you have the space for it you might also consider a...

  • Kuat Bike Rack for 2004 Toyota RAV4 That Can Clear Rear Spare
Hey Greg, so the hitches that we offer for your 2004 Toyota RAV4 like the Curt # C13524 have a distance of 10 inches from their hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear spare. So you need a hitch bike rack that has at least 10 inches from it's hitch pin hole to the nearest bike tray. The Kuat NV Base part # BA22B would work for this as it has this distance at 11-3/4 inches. The Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU84FR does not have quite the clearance needed as-is but I wouldn't...

  • 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Bike Rack Recommendation for Swing Away Adapter
No, you do not want to use the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 with the Yakima BackSwing part # Y02483 because of that 2" solid shank requirement. If your bike doesn't have a front fender then you can use the BackSwing with a rack like the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR or NV 2.0 Base # BA22B. I really like the Kuat line of bike racks because they put a lot of thought into the designs so you get great quality and easy-to-use racks. Attached are review videos of both for you to check out.

  • Can Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike Rack Convert to 2-Bike Rack
Hi Howard; if this was originally the 2-bike # KU84FR all you need to do is remove the add on # KU57FR to convert it back. If it was originally the 3-bike version # KU24FR you will remove the cradle and hook arm but the arms they attach to will remain extended out as they are now. There are no special instructions or other info you should need to make the conversion.

  • Looking For Swing Away Adapter To Use With Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack
Hello Peg, we sure do! Kuat actually makes a swing away hitch that will work great with the Transfer V2 bike rack. For that you can use the following: - Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches - Passenger's Side # PVP20B - Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches - Driver's Side # PVD20B The passenger side swing is recommended especially for streetside parking, but both options are available. • Option For Carrying 2 E-Bikes Using The Curt RV Bumper Hitch E-100
Hello Ron. You are correct that the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR is not recommended to be used on a hitch attached to a bumper. Even with the safety struts added, we still cannot recommend doing this. Using a bumper mounted hitch is definitely going to limit your options for a bike rack. Our best option for this is the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack # KU76ZR. This rack is rated for use on the back of a camper, and unlike the Transfer V2, the Piston Pro can be used with a bumper mounted hitch. This...

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for Fat Tire Bikes at Back of Fifth Wheel
I have a really great bike rack solution for you, but the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR can only fit bike tires that are up to 3 inches in width. So instead, I recommend the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # LGA77FR. This is fifth wheel approved like you need, has higher weight capacities need for e-bikes of 75 pounds per bike. It has wheel hoops that were designed for fat bikes that will accommodate tires up to 4.5" so that will also...

Hi Frannie, Awesome choice going with a Kuat rack, they make not only high-quality racks, but ones that look superb as well. And for the specific rack for you and your Volvo, I recommend the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 for its unique combo of function, ease of use, and style. The Sherpa 2.0 even comes in your choice of colors: - Gray: Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH22G - Black: Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH22B - Pearl: Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH22P One of the best things about the Sherpa 2.0...

  • Can the Thule Elite Van XT 2 Hold Electric Bikes?
I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, since the Thule Elite Van XT 2 Bike Rack # TH302043 only has a per-bike weight capacity of 42 pounds, it is not enough to hold an electric bike. There isn't a trunk/van bike rack option that will carry the weight of electric bikes. With that being said, the best bet is a hitch-mounted bike rack or adapter that has a swing-away capability that will still allow you to open the rear doors of the van. For this route, I recommend the Kuat Transfer...

To mount a bike rack to the tongue of your R-Pod you will want to start out by using the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers # CC-275. This will give you a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver opening for you to use a bike rack with. From the top of the A-frame of your R-Pod to the top of the cross tube is 33-1/2 inches, which should clear your electric tongue jack, and it has a weight capacity of 100 lbs. • Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Winnebago View Class C Motorhome
I have a bike rack that will work for you, but I cannot recommend the Kuat Sherpa # SH22G for use on your 2016 Winnebago View. Kuat does not approve the use of their Sherpa 2.0 - or other bike racks - on motorhomes or camper trailers. A bike rack is put under a lot more torque and stress when used at the back of a motorhome or camper when compared to being used on a vehicle. Kuat has not tested and designed their bike racks for use under these more strenuous environments. There are not...

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying E-Bike at Rear of Travel Trailer
We have an e-bike rack that is rated for the rougher ride quality at the rear of travel trailers with the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR but the Hollywood Racks RV Rider you mentioned is currently not rated for this application. The Transfer V2 though has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and only touches the bikes by the tires so it's a really great and easy to use option. Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out! The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack # TH92BJ and the wheel trays, like part # 853-7481 you're looking at, are only rated for 35 lb bikes and there isn't a way to increase that rating. If you have heavier bikes then we'll need to get you squared away with a bike rack that can better handle the extra weight. • Is Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Compatible With Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk
Any bike rack used with the # CC-275 would need to be rated for a travel trailer. Unfortunately, the # NV22B does not have that rating. What you can use instead is the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # KU84FR. This rack may not be as nice as the NV 2.0 but it will get the job done and is compatible with a travel trailer. Keep in mind, the # CC-275 only has a capacity of 100 lbs. Since the bike rack itself weighs 37 lbs that only leaves 63 lbs for your bikes.

  • Can the Bike Bunk be Used for a Kuat Bike Rack on a Lance Camper Pulled by a Yukon XL
Hey Todd, thanks for reaching out! The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk # CC-275 is a great way to get both your trailer and bikes to your campground, and it will work as long as your bike rack is rated for a trailer. For example, the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU84FR has been approved for use at the back of a trailer. It weighs in at 37 lbs so your bike's combined weight would need to be no more than 63 lbs to safely use this. If you let me know what bike rack you have, I'd be more than happy to check...

  • Hitch Bike Rack for a 2025 Toyota 4Runner OEM Hitch
Thanks for reaching out, Paul! A lot of bike rack companies utilize a threaded hitch pin to match the thread in the shank. Yakima is one of them and at this time they don't a longer hitch pin. You would need to get a rack that doesn't have a threaded shank, like the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU84FR. Kuat has an anti-rattle that is built into the shank and doesn't rely on a threaded hitch pin. The Kuat rack does come with a hitch pin, but if you would like to get an even longer one you...
