Rugged, Matte Black Finish

The sturdy steel construction is protected with a matte black finish for added durability. This unique powder coating gives etrailer hitches a carbide-like appearance and a rugged look that sets them apart from traditional glossy hitches. In addition to being rust and corrosion resistant, the tough matte coating hides dirt, scuffs, and dings better than a glossy finish.

Everything came packaged nicely.
Attached
the hitch and assembled the bike rack in under 90 minutes. Hardest part was cleaning threads on car for hitch bolts.

It’s been a year and both the hitch and bike rack are performing like new. Ease of loading and unloading and especially how solid the rack holds bikes from moving around is what makes the rack superior to the ones I’ve used in the past.

Super fast shipping and even easier installation. Took me less than 30 minutes by myself to install. Hitch came wrapped up in plenty of shrink wrap and tape for protection and shipping and product arrived in pristine condition.

Still working great, towed my double jet ski trailer all summer long with no problems.

The product is as advertised. Installation was easy as it took 2 of us about 20 minutes to install it. Access to the bolts is tougher on the drivers due to the muffler, but it fit perfectly. I recommend watching the installation video. They do need to do a better job with shipping. The 2 brackets that bolt to the car were ripped through the box. The metal easily sliced through the cardboard and were exposed. (See photos). Other reviews noted this and some were even bent on arrival. Mine were not and fit fine, but the packaging definitely needs to be reinforced.

It works fine. The only thing I wanted and use it for is for a bicycle rack so it doesn’t get any towing use at all. The rack does block the feature where one can use a foot to open the hatchback on our car when your hands are full. Don’t like that and was unexpected. The rack itself is fine.

The hitch receiver was exactly what I ordered and installation went just as the instructions stated. It came fully wrapped and protected. Installation took about 45 minutes by myself. My only issue was trying to get my torque wrench on the bolts on the driver’s side. Extremely happy with it!!

@Alan Love to hear it, Alan! What have you been using your hitch for this past year?

by:
Nissan Rogue

Positive remarks: easy to install. I did not have to put the Rogue on lift or jack. I was able to install the hitch with very minimal difficulty. Due to the weight, I had an extra hand to assist I getting it installed. Installing the bolts was challenging at first. You have to get it perfectly with very little wiggle room to screw it in. I did not have silicone so I just spray a bit of WD-40. Tightening to 86 lbs is very tight. I felt I was going to strip it. Great videos to instruct how to install!! Thanks very helpful.
NEGATIVE remarks: shipment received was awful. Some people would think it’s no big deal the item popping out of the box, not packaged securely. The hitch moved around in the box loosely and unsecured as chipped a bit of paint. Sticker logo ripped/smeared. Weird thing is after I purchased the hitch the following days the price dropped. As a customer receiving an item it should be as well maintains and packaged better. I would still purchase from E Trailer. Great Product/Service! Poor shipping.

2015 Nissan Rogue

I purchased and installed an etrailer hitch on my 2015 Rogue, nine years ago. My wife and I installed the trailer hitch with no problems. Last week we bought a new 2025 Rogue and didn’t hesitate purchasing another new hitch from etrailer.com.
William was our customer service representative and was able to help me with my order after I had some issues with the online order. Ordered on Saturday and at my doorstep by Wednesday.
Similar installation and same expectation. We only use the hitch for our bicycle rack, but we know that our recreation equipment is safe and secure in the new hitch.
Peace of mind

So far so good, with help from a friend we had the hitch hooked up in about a half hour. My Bike rack fits well with good clearance. Kudos to trailer for an exact fit.

Nissan Rogue

I've been using this on a 2022 Rogue for over a year, primarily with a large basket. It installed easily single person, instructions were clear, and it's been great. I have yet to put a trailer behind it - but the rogue has a 1500lb tow limit anyway. I like the receiver a lot.

by:

This hitch fit PERFECTLY and I was amazed that the fit was so exacting. I installed it using my floor jack for support by myself without any help. I had recently had a hip replacement and was not particularly mobile nor flexible at that time.

@Jessica No scratches are always a plus lol. Do you have any fun parks or trails around you that you like to bike? I don't bike often, but we are right near the Katy Trail in Missouri and its always a nice ride along the river!

by:

The hitch is very nice and I like the matte black. I would highly recommend removing the muffler cross bar (4 bolts) for installation and it gives you wiggle room to get it positioned. I also had to bend back that cross bar just slightly as it will rub on the back of the hitch and make noise if you don't.

by:

Once again etrailer got me exactly what I needed. Previously I've ordered online but this time I needed some assistance. Katie at etrailer made sure what I was ordering fit my friends SUV. Etrailer is the first place to go for anything hitch related. Great video help too!

2010 Nissan Rogue

Installed on 2023 Nissan Rogue. Hitch receiver arrived wrapped in heavy duty plastic and tape. First time installing a hitch receiver and was able to install it solo in 30 minutes. I can probably do it in 10 minutes now that I know how to. Tips: (1) Removing the 2 rear rivets in order to bend out the plastic trim by about 1/2 to 1 inch DOES HELP. (2) Jack up the driver side helps give more clearance with positioning the hitch receiver over the exhaust. (3) If installing solo, a standard jack stand is incredibly useful to hold up the passenger side as you install the driver side first.

To follow up, hitch is performing as expected. Main use is for bike rack plus up to 4 bikes. With the extra weight, hitch scrapes my driveway when backing up. Granted, my driveway has a higher clearance than normal. This may be unique to my case, but I noticed that the hitch makes contact with the muffler when the car is on and vibrates against it.

2/11/2025

@Steven I am sorry to hear that your hitch is scraping on you driveway, I wish there was a fix for this. I would look under the car and see if there is a way to add an extra exhaust hanger to try to get the muffler away from the hitch a smidge. I am glad that you have a way to transport your families bikes to be able to go out for a nice ride =)

2023 Nissan Rogue

Arrived quickly and was very easy to install. I had this installed on my 2023 Nissan rogue in less than 10 minutes by myself. I opted to not remove the plastic trim piece. Just had to flex it a bit and it went right on. I won’t be towing with this, but it’ll be great for our cargo carrier!

Still working great after 1 year. The only issue I’ve had is it chafes against the exhaust heat shield. I just ground a small section out of the heat shield that was rubbing so it’s no longer an issue. Would definitely buy again!

by:

The reason I gave this product 3 stars is because it is so difficult to install. I have a friend who is a mechanic and used to installing things like this. I have a 2024 Nissan Rogue and he had an awful time getting the hitch around the muffler and getting all four bolts lined up. Bottom line highly recommend a professional hitch place who do this all the time. Other than that the hitch is fine so far.

I have to use two jacke to create the rigth clearence to installed, was easier and very fast to install, the side from the exaust have to be lifted like when you gone a replace the tire but not to much to let the tire free, on the other side, you have to lift a litte bit. my son help me with this.

Very easy to install. My son and I had it on within 10 minutes. Just one thing, make sure you bend or cut the muffler support bracket just a bit. Otherwise it will vibrate at time when idling.

by:

I would’ve given this five stars because the trailer hitch is solid and well built. Installation however it was a different story… It was not an easy installation. We had to put it up on a neighbors rack and then try making it a quarter of an inch wider. We had to use a house Jack and a wood block to spread it wider. Sooooo… the part of the instructions that state “ for easier installation remove the three plastic locking caps from the underside of the car bumper.” Errrrrrr….that made no difference whatsoever! Lol

It sounds like that the side brackets were knocked out of alignment which is why the bolt holes are not lining up. This can happen while in transit to our facility or to you. We do have a great FAQ that provides ways to move the brackets back into alignment so the hitch can be installed.

  • Will a 2022 Tucson Hitch Fit a 2024 Nissan Rogue
Hey Rich, thanks for reaching out! The hitch profiles for a 2022 Tucson and your 2024 Nissan Rogue are different so you unfortunately won't be able to just swap them over. To get a new hitch for your Rogue I recommend picking up the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e93ZR because it has a matte black finish which not only looks better, but also is mor durable than the standard glossy black finishes we see on other hitches. Please note when adding any hitch to your Rogue, that the hitch...

To choose the correct ball mount you'll need to figure out the difference between the height of your hitch receiver and your trailer coupler. To measure your hitch receiver height you'll measure from the ground to the top inside of your receiver. When we installed this on a 2021 Rogue we found this height to be 11-3/4". Then for your trailer coupler height you'll need to...
