Features to know about

Do More With Your Vehicle: Class III 2" Hitch for Everyday Towing and Gear

With a 5,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 750-lb tongue weight, this Class III hitch gives you the muscle for light and moderate towing. Hook up a small camper, utility trailer, or boat, or use it for a bike rack or cargo carrier when you need more space. Pair it with a weight distribution system and the capacity jumps to 6,000 lbs GTW while maintaining 750 lbs TW, giving you more control and stability when hauling heavier loads. The 2" x 2" receiver works with most mounts and accessories you already have.

Clean Look Without the Bulk: Hidden Round-Tube Design and Matte Black Finish

The concealed cross tube keeps the hitch tucked under the bumper so only the receiver shows. It looks like it belongs there instead of something bolted on as an afterthought. The matte black powder coat over a protective base coat gives it a rugged, carbide-like look that hides scuffs and blends in better than glossy finishes. It’s also corrosion-resistant, so road grime and weather won’t wear it down over time.

Side-by-side comparison showing matte carbide black trailer hitch finish versus glossy black finish, highlighting the textured, non-reflective surface of the matte coating.

Close-up comparison of matte carbide versus glossy black trailer hitch finishes, showing surface texture and light reflection differences.

DIY-Friendly Install: Bolt-On Design with No Welding Required

This hitch is built for home installers who prefer simple tools over shop equipment. It bolts right to the frame using the included hardware—no drilling or welding needed. The precision robotic welding ensures everything lines up with factory mounting points for a hassle-free fit that saves time in the driveway.

Built to Last Through Every Haul: Fully Welded Steel Construction

The fully welded steel body maximizes strength where it matters most. It’s ready for years of towing duty, bike trips, and road adventures without flex or rattle. Each hitch comes with a complete hardware kit and installation instructions plus lifetime technical support from etrailer’s towing experts whenever you need an extra hand figuring out setup or torque specs.

My installation was on a 2023 Telluride. Everything went to plan following the instructional video and included paperwork except for the passenger side, rear most outward facing bolt. There is about a 1/8 inch gap between the hitch and the frame of the car. I called etrailer, pressed 3, and talked with a representative who explained the steel of the hitch is intentionally somewhat mailable, and that the hitch probably got a little bent during shipping. He stated this was okay as long as the bolt and nut were torqued to spec, which they were (79 foot-pounds). The representative mentioned I could try to remove the hitch and bend this portion back into place with a few different techniques, but it was already on the car, he said it was safe, and I didn't feel like removing it. There were two items that were also different from the instructions. First, the plastic nuts on the panel covering the hitch electronics were not traditional nuts, but instead plastic nuts that push/pull on/off. Trying to rotate them off didn't do anything. Second, the measurements for cutting the bumper panel for the hitch, as others mentioned, were incorrect. 8.75" from each side and 3" up worked as someone else posted (thank you). You could go a little tighter if you wanted on the sides of the cut but not on the top, 3" almost touches. I'm going to check that questionable bolt after some towing, and if possible I'll update this review.

Works great!

Ordered and installed this hitch a year ago and it's great. Build quality is outstanding and installation is quick and easy. I recommend following the installation videos that can be found on this site. For our 2023 kia telluride I had to cut some trim off. It looks like it came from the factory.

by:

Etrailer’s customer service is of the highest standard from booking my appointment and the satisfaction follow through after installation. I would highly recommend Etrailer to anyone who wants personal customer care, professional installation and the custom fit designed for my vehicle.

by:

The hitch fits nicely. I had someone install it for me with no problems.the bumper did need a small cut.

by:

Quality product and great installation video

by:

The website ordering process and communication with staff was excellent. Looking forward to installing my hitch. But I do have one suggestion you may want to consider a another shipping option.

by:

Installing the hitch was quick and easy. The only problem was the measurements provided in the instructions to cut the plastic panel were off by 3/4". Measure twice - cut once. Anyway it all worked out.

The hitch works great. No issues at all.

by:

This was the 3rd eTrailer hitch receiver I've purchased. The fit and finish is great and the materials are heavy duty. It took me about 2.5 hours to install but I'm 72, don't have any air powered tools and worked alone in my garage. (Did i mention this sucker is heavy?)
I highly recommend this item.

by:

Everything worked great and install was smooth.

What kind of bike are you carrying, Alan?

by:

Hitch arrived on time. Was installed with ease. Thank you!

by:

Good quality, came with all nuts and bolts needed. It actually took longer to move somethings out of the way to be able to install it then it did actually installing the hitch.

by:

The hitch receiver fit well and attached easily enough. Seems like a quality product and will test it out with an upcoming road trip out West.

by:

Hitch is well made and installation was pretty straight forward. Only comment was packaging could be a little better. I had to do some paint touch up as it was worn down to bare metal in 2 areas. But overall a great product with perfect fit.

by:

Fairly easy to install and looks great. Installed on 24 Telluride SX Xline
I like that it doesn't protrude pass the bumper.

by:

Awesome. Everything was perfect. Installed it quite fast. The area around the exhaust pipe is very tight but in the end I could manage it.

So glad to hear that, Alan! What all did you do to get around the exhaust? Did you have to move them at all or just finagle the hitch around them?

by:

The installation went exactly according to plan, and the final install looks great. I used a mechanic's creeper and some ramps, which was extremely helpful. The videos on the website were excellent, showing every little detail. I cut an extra hole in the bumper for a 7-way connector, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I personally haven't ever seen someone add the hole to the bumper for the 7-way...it looks so clean! Thanks for sharing the photos and your genius!

by:

All looks good. For a 2025 Kia Telluride need to find a better solution to mount a 7 terminal rv connector to the vehicle.

by:

Took a few hours to get installed (I’m a novice when it comes to auto work/repair), but all the parts and instructions were great. The YouTube video was very easy to follow. The build quality of the hardware seems excellent. Looks good when installed as well.

I am not that mechanically gifted and I put this hitch on by myself. The videos online are pretty accurate. I drove the back of the car up on 4” solid cinderblocks and it was enough room to maneuver. Looks and fits great.

You are obviously more mechanically inclined than you give yourself credit for. Congrats on the successful install. Glad the videos were helpful and thanks for including the photo!

by:

First off - this thing is a BRUTE! Nice thick metal construction, grade 8 hardware all around. Installation was pretty straightforward. Hit a few small hangups on the exhaust side - washers were getting hung up on heat shield. DEFINITELY make sure the threads are chased/clean on the welded nuts. I pre-fitted every bolt and drove them in all the way ahead of installation. Beyond those small hiccups it was relatively easy. Also - etrailer does a PHENOMENAL job with their packaging. This thing could have been dropped off the Empire State Building and been completely intact (ok, so a bit of exaggeration, but still). If you're gonna be towing with your Telluride - this is definitely one receiver to look into.

Glad to hear you're happy with the quality of the hitch to the packaging, Tom! Looks like you did great with the install, too :) What will you be using your hitch to tow?

by:

Very straight forward installment. I was able to do it myself on the ground with very little effort. It would be much easier if on a lift for sure but it can be done without.
The video was very helpful on the steps to remove covers and how to drop the exhaust so I didn't spin my wheels figuring it out on my own.

Thanks for sharing! We're so glad to hear the installation went well and that the video helped make the process easier. It's great to know you were able to tackle it on the ground by yourself, even if a lift would make things a little easier.

  • How to Determine Correct Curt 4-Way Wiring Harness For 2024 Kia Telluride
Yeah, it is definitely a bit to sort through, so I think we can help you out with the right 4-way wiring harness for your 2024 Kia Telluride. We'll start with the easy one, which is if you want to hardwire a 4-way, the model of your Telluride doesn't matter, and you can just go ahead and use the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236. But this is the most challenging install, and something I personally don't recommend; it's just making things harder...

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring for 2024 Kia Telluride EX Without Tow Package
I'm not sure why they include that replacement latch but that is not required for any of the aftermarket hitches or wiring. It is probably something related to the installation of the OEM hitch. The etrailer # e45ZR you referenced is what I would recommend. This hitch has a bolt-on installation and a concealed cross tube for a nice clean look. It has a matte black finish and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Since you have the EX you will need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendations for a 2025 Kia Telluride
Hey Stephen, thanks for reaching out! For your setup I recommend picking up the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e45ZR and using the Curt T-Connector wiring kit for the basic 4-Way wiring. You'll need part # C93FV if you have an LX or S, OR the part # C29ZV if your 2025 Kia Telluride is a different model. To get you to the 7-Way, you'll need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This gives you everything you need for a fully-functional 7-Way. You likely don't need a brake controller for...

  • What Hitch Installs on a 2024 Kia Telluride that Does Not Require Trimming?
Not, the Curt item # C13420 or the etrailer item # e45ZR no. The only hitch that can be installed on the 2024 Kia Telluride that does not involve any cutting or trimming is the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver item # 391KIATELL20. The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver item # 391KIATELL20 is custom fit for the 2024 Kia Telluride and bolts to it with included hardware. • Which Hitch is Best for my 2025 Kia Telluride
Thanks for reaching out, Ryan. There are a few differences between the hitches. The B&W hitch part # BW82PR has a slightly higher towing capacity but the ground clearance is less. You will have 11-3/4" ground clearance with the B&W but the etrailer hitch part # e45ZR sits higher so will give you 13-1/2" of ground clearance. If you're okay with the lower ground clearance to prevent needing to do trimming, the B&W would be a great option. What are you planning on using the hitch for?

  • Which Hitch is Better for a 2025 Kia Telluride SX-Prestige X-Line? The etrailer or B&W?
Hey Ryan. The lack of trimming on the B&W Trailer Hitch item # BW82PR compared to the etrailer item # e45ZR does come with a bit of a trade off. The receiver for the B&W item # BW82PR sits lower when installed on your 2025 Kia Telluride SX-Prestige X-Line. The reason the etrailer item # e45ZR requires that cut on the bottom of your Kia's fascia is because the top of the receiver sits 15-1/2" above the ground. We haven't had a chance to install the B&W item # BW82PR on a 2025 Telluride...

  • Can I Use Weight Distribution Hitch On 2025 Honda Pilot With Unibody Frame?
Hello Francisco, thanks for reaching out. You are correct that weight distribution (WD) hitches should not be used on vehicles with unibody frames. The frame is not made to handle the additional stress added by the WD hitch. I am sure there are people out there that do it, it's a free country after all lol, but it is not something I can recommend because of the unibody. That combined with the verbiage in the owners manual, I would discourage you from using a WD hitch, but it is ultimately...

Hey Larry, thanks for the information! To add a 4-way wiring harness to your 2023 Kia Telluride X-Line you'll need the Curt item # C29ZV. This T-Connector plugs directly into the wiring harness behind your rear tail lights. Since your trailer has regular light bulbs you won't have to worry about compatibility issues. Hello Zack, thanks for reaching out. There is a stealth hitch option for the 2024 Telluride, part # 391KIATELL20, but we have not yet confirmed fitment for the 2025 model. Basically, we would need to test fit one ourselves or get fitment info from the manufacturer and neither has happened quite yet.
