Replace the damaged 7-way, RV-style trailer connector on your vehicle with this T-One harness. ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system. Brake controller adapter plugs in beneath your dash and lets you easily plug in your electric brake controller.
Features:
Specs:
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the body harness up to your car battery and connect the wires per the included instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a 2-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's 3-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
This adapter plugs into the 4-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
This adapter requires no hardwiring. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

The original manufacturers instructions for this product leave a lot to be desired.
Let’s start with the required tools list: Tester or Volt Meter (the instructions never reference it again, but it will be needed to find the correct green wire at the “vehicle body harness connection point”. Or even better, a picture of the wire behind the passenger front tire:
(See photo of body harness connection point)
When it’s time to run the 18 gauge blue wire through the “side cargo trim panels”, I couldn’t find a grommet underneath the vehicle that led up the side of the vehicle, so instead, I drilled a ¼” hole in the light pocket (see Figure-1 below), added a small rubber grommet, and using a fishing wire, pulled it up to the “door electrical harness” (see Figure-2).
If you use the provided wire-tap, at this location, you will now need an extra one for the “vehicle body harness connection point”, as the kit only comes with one.
Lastly, if you watch some of the videos, you’ll see they run the power wires up front, and into the engine bay, but don’t really show exactly where they come up, but it appears it’s right next to the exhaust (which would not be good). The instructions say to “follow existing wires/to post underneath hood”. Rather than connecting at the battery, I ran my wires through the grommet at the bottom of this area (see next photo), and connected to the Battery jump post instead.

This is a great product, and well thought out, it seems they (Tekonsha) could have gone just a little further on the instructions for those of us who don’t do this every day.
Never actually towed anything with it as I got it for a bike rack but it installs and is every bit like the factory full load hitch including hiding it behind the removable hitch panel.

Have got around to some light towing with it. Cannot complain at all. It does what it is supposed to do.
Everything i need to hook up my lights and electric brake assistance. I bought a 4 way adapter for a utility trailer hook up. I had this installed for me at my local U-Haul store. I wasn't going to attempt it lol. Leave it to the professionals. I'm very happy with this purchase, Thank You etrailer.com!
The product was as descripted and prompt upon delivery. Works flawlessly with the 2017 durango gt.
I installed the Mopar hitch at the same time as this wiring harness and it took longer then I had expected.
I prefer not to use the wire taps so I removed some insulation from the signal wire in the hatch and twisted the blue wire around it. Wrapped it up with electric tape and called it good.
For the front green signal wire above the passenger front wheel well. I didn’t want to expose that to the elements, so i chased it to the fuse block in the engine bay and back probed it there.
This kit came with all the necessary materials needed, and of course use dielectric on the connectors for longevity.
Overall product works flawlessly. The only complaint I have was with the installation instructions. If I didn't find a guide online that someone wrote up I would have never been able to complete the installation. In the instructions it tells you to hook a wire up behind the forward tire fender well on the passenger side to a connector that doesn't exist. The actual location is inside the vehicle on the driver's side near the rear hatch other then this it was straight forward with following the guide found online.
Arrived on time with full very clear instructions for installation of everything. Only thing I was disappointed about was the brake controller had come out of the package during shipping and was just floating around on the box. Watched several of the installation videos before I even received the products. So very helpful. Keep up the great work
Easy to to order and accurate. Good installation instructions!
Directions very vague....no tech support from etrailer and manufacturers tech support is closed on on the weekend when most people work on their vehicles.
I got exactly what I needed and a great price for my 2018 Dodge Durango. The installation videos made it easy to install!
Phenomenal support! Was able to follow the video and do this myself. Not a mechanic, not a construction guy…just a dad trying to do a few things here and there to save money and this was an accomplishment I am proud of!
Our order was shipped very quickly, and arrived in excellent condition. We received a phone call after we submitted our online order to confirm the order. Received an email to advise our order was shipped, and we also received an email our order was successfully delivered. Great communication!
Easy Install and holding up well after a year of use in New England
Had a technician install this with no problems. Works great.
great product never had a problem with it!
