I have a 2022 Dodge Durango with the factory tow package and I am wanting to add a hitch, wiring harness, and brake controller, and anything else I need to tow my cargo trailer. Can you help me set get everything I need?

I would be happy to help you set your 2022 Dodge Durango up to tow your cargo trailer. I have linked all necessary parts below along with any pictures and installation videos we have that will help you install them.

For a hitch, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch item # DT38MR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Durango with included hardware. I really like this hitch because it mounts behind your rear bumper and is completely concealed behind the cover when you are not towing. This hitch is also the only one available that will allow you to retain the use of a full size spare tire.

To add a 7-Way vehicle connector you are going to want the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter item # TK22113. This harness fits the 2022 Durango's with the towing package. The connector will plug into your Durango's wiring harness behind the rear tail lights. It will provide you with a brake controller adapter that will fit Tekonsha brake controller's and the Tekonsha adapter for Red Arc brake controllers item # 331-TPH-017.

The best brake controller is going to be the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller item # RED24FR. The Liberty is a proportional brake controller that activates your trailers brakes when your Durango decelerates. It also has a unique installation method where the main portion of the brake controller is installed behind your dash and the only visible portion is the control knob. You will also need the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness item # 331-TPH-017 mentioned above to complete your installation without cutting or splicing wires.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
