Hitch-Mounted Design

MaxxTow Hydraulic Crane

This crane conveniently slides into your 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, leaving your truck bed open so that you can easily load all of your cargo. The T-style base ensures that the crane sits off to the side of your truck so that you get absolute clearance for moving items into and out of your truck bed.

MaxxTow Hydraulic Crane Base

It is recommended that you use the crane with either a Class III or Class IV hitch to ensure that you do not exceed your hitch's maximum tongue weight capacity. That being said, this crane is designed to take up as little tongue weight as possible. The majority of the weight of your load is supported not by the hitch itself, but by the two integrated legs of the crane. These support legs sit beneath the hydraulic ram to provide a strong, sturdy base. Easily adjust the legs to match the height of your trailer hitch, and they will provide an excellent foundation for your application.

Easy Operation

MaxxTow Hydraulic Crane Operation

To work the crane, simply insert the included handle into the slot near the hydraulic ram. To raise the boom, just pump the handle. Once your load is at the intended height, manually pivot the upright post to move the item into your truck bed. Then slowly turn the release valve counterclockwise to drop the hydraulic pressure, thus lowering your load.

Three Boom Positions

MaxxTow Hydraulic Crane Boom Positions

Three different boom positions are available, ensuring proper leverage for any given load. Choose the position farthest out on the crane arm for wide or unwieldy cargo to make maneuvering it into your truck bed a snap. For heavier items, move the fulcrum point closer to the body of the crane. This change in leverage provides an increase in mechanical advantage to make hoisting heavy loads easy.

Simple, Compact Storage

MaxxTow Hydraulic Crane Breakdown and Storage

Storing the crane is simple. The entire thing breaks down for compact storage. Remove the boom by first dropping it to its lowest position. Then fold the boom up and lift it off of the base assembly. Remove the base from your hitch receiver and use the quick pins to release the legs. Fold the legs up, and use the integrated storage strap to tie everything together.

Video Transcript for Maxx Tow Hitch Crane Review

Today we're going to review the MaxxTow hitch mounted crane, part number MT07328. Now in this video we're actually going to walk through the assembly process as well as how to use it since you'll have to assemble it on the vehicle and disassemble it each time you don't need to use it. We'll start with the T-connector that we'll insert into the receiver hitch on our truck and secure it with a pin and clip. Next we'll assemble the legs onto the base of the crane system. We'll use the pins and clips to secure the legs into the welding on tabs on the sides of the base. As you assemble the legs you want to make sure that they are going to sit at the base and at the same height as the receiver tube of the hitch.

You want that main support arm to sit level. We'll slide the base into our T-connector that we've already attached to our hitch and make sure that we line the main housing of the base up with the edge of our truck. With the base together we'll tighten down the two set bolts on the T-connector and use the nuts to lock them down. Now we're ready to mount our main hoist assembly. We'll remove the protective cover over the bearing and main post assembly and set that into the base that we now have secured to the truck.

With the hoist system mounted we can go ahead and undo the strap around it. Then we can mount our handle into our jack and we're ready to lift our load. There are three different weight settings that we can use on this hoist, 500 pounds, 750 pounds, and 1,000 pounds. The further we're out on the hoist arm the lower the capacity is. To adjust the weight capacity simply remove the bolt and the chain, move it to your new boom position with the new weight capacity, re-insert your bolt and tighten it down.

Make sure that whatever load you're lifting you find a safe and secure way to secure it to the hook on the end of our hoist. At the base of the system is a hydraulic jack. We'll use the handle to pump the jack and lift it up. When operating the crane it's probably best to have two sets of hands. One to operate the jack and the other to manipulate and stabilize the load as you're maneuvering it.

You can also use the handle to loosen the release bolt to let pressure down and let the crane down. The MaxxTow crane will also quickly and easily breakdown so you can get back on the road. We'll remove the crane assembly from the pass, put the protective covering back over the bearing and support post and lay it in the bed of our truck. We can quickly and easily remove the legs from the base of the system by undoing the snapper pins. Then we can lay them in the bed. Now we can leave the base in the T-connector and secure it using the pin and clip, after we undo our adjustment bolts, or simply remove it and place it in the bed as well. That's it for our review of the MaxxTow hitch mounted crane, part number MT07328.

Very well made product. I received the product and the box was all torn, luckly everything was there. The unit was easy to assemble and as the other customers reported the bag was torn as well as the box. I'm pleased with the unit. A little heavy but my generator is heavier. 573171

The tool was nicely packaged and there was no scrapes or dents. The product is built heavy duty and worked for my purpose. I like the fact of it being mobile with the truck and not permanently installed. I did not like the directions when I was putting it together though. I had to figure out that there was no oil in it and had to buy some at the auto store. Also, the snap ring, bearing, and cup was not assembled though. Luckily I have a mechanic buddy that let me barrow his very large snap ring plier to assemble those parts. Over all I like the tool and it was worth paying a little extra for. 134737

During installation it was required to grind off paint and some metal to make hydraulic cylinder fit. It works and functions as indicated and would recommend item to a friend as they are already asking to borrow mine. I am considering putting an electric winch on it to make usage easier. 569576

I can not comment on the product because I have not had a chance to use it yet. I can comment on your very reliable service. I have ordered several products from your company and have always been extremely satisfied with the quality of your products and the very professional service. I recently had an order delivered and a well meaning neighbor told the delivery person that I was on vacation and the product was returned to your shipping department. When I notified your staff, they were very helpful and scheduled another shipment that assured a proper delivery. Thanks for your assistance. 520778

Product received in good condition. Only problem was a missing high strength lock nut for the crane assembly, which I easily found at the local auto parts store for about two bucks. I was able to set up the crane, move an old transmission out of the back of my pickup truck, and take the crane apart and stow it away, all in about 30 minutes! And the best part was....did it by myself..........and with no injuries! Great product! 488852

Product is robust and well built. However, it misses one important criteria: it won't go low enough to work with most 3/4 ton (F150) pickups that have standard lift. If the bottom of your hitch receiver is less than 16" off the ground, the stand will be too high. This product is made in China and sold under several brand names. This issue has been reported for some of the other brands. There is a simple solution to the problem, but the buyer should not have adapt the product to his vehicle. The manufacturer should modify the stand design to accommodate a broader range of receiver heights. 400260

It was easy to put together. Iike that I can take it down and stow it when not in use. I use it to move my 5th wheel hitch on and off the truck, as it is very heavy. I also use it to move tree trunks and some large rocks and move my generator. I have a very tall diesel pickup truck and it adjusts to the truck hitch with no problem. 241950

Super fast shipping & delivery; next day! Opened box & assembled. Haven’t used it yet to lift my 5th wheel hitch, but expect to use it shortly. Improvement suggestion is to clearly identify the hardware, nuts & bolts. A picture of each part and measurement would be good. This hoist is very robust & somewhat heavy to lift the sub-assemblies by myself. But I believe this will be the best hoist for my application. The 300 lb hoist might have been to flimsy for my application. 575883

This crane works great when you need to load a heavy object in the back of your truck and don't have help. The stand transfers a lot of the weight to the ground rather than have it cantilever off the receiver of your truck, this also greatly reduces suspension bounce when lifting and lowering a heavy object. If the boom was a little longer it would make the pick and swing a little easier for my truck. However, making the boom longer changes the load dynamic which would require the crane to stronger, heavier and probably more expensive. This crane works as advertised. 447043

A year later and the crane is still functioning great. No hydraulic leaks and storage is easy. It was worth the money just from saving my back. You have to get something heavy loaded into your truck but there is not always someone around to help. My heaviest load on my crane was a 5kVA power backup unit complete with internal batteries and transformer.

I bought this mainly so I knew I would have it for the really heavy stuff I have no business lifting at my age. In the last year, I have used it once or maybe twice. Otherwise, it sits in storage. The pros: it works great, it’s strong. Cons: it takes up too much room in the bed of the truck. Otherwise I would haul it with me everywhere. I don’t like having to plan that far in advance to haul it out of storage, make room in the. truck bed etc. As always, etrailer is top notch in customer service and shipping etc. I don’t throw compliments away. You gotta earn that with me and they have. 557954

The hoist arrived just in time to move my heavy generator after the hurricane support for a friend's house. We set the hoist up on my F-150 needing only a couple assembly details reviewed. All the parts were provided & fit. After picking up the generater, we repeated the process to unload it. Will be looking for more opportunities to put it in use! 433224

This item came pretty well packaged. They shipped it in a heavy cardboard box with a thin plywood lining inside. Every item was bubble wrapped. The box was badly beat up by who ever delivered it. But, I have to say there was only a little scratched off paint (impressed). I occasionally need the ability to load heavy items into my truck alone. From a large welder, broken cement, to small logs for my sawmill. This item will greatly help with this. I opened it today and put it together on my truck. Chevy Silverado, with a bottom hitch height 16.5" off the ground . It mounts up well. Seems very well built. There is adjustment on the feet and on the legs. Seems like it will adapt to a lot of hitch heights. All the parts were there and fit together well. I havn't needed to use it yet, but it looks up to the task. This item came very quickly as usual always from etrailer. 575537

The crane is of excellent quality . Welds are very strong, finish is very good, very easy to assemble and operate. I do recommend this hitch mounted crane to anyone that needs to lift heavy loads ( or light loads ) onto the bed of a pick up or even a full size moving truck from Penske or Uhaul. I'm using it to load my belongings onto the moving truck and relieves me from hiring people to help lift my heavy objects. The ordering was a breeze, delivery within the specified time and their customer service is impeccable. Received one incomplete order and they shipped a replacement immediately no questions asked. Ordered same crane from very big online ordering house and days after delivery was to be made and still had no crane. Called their customer serviced and was told that it hadn't even been shipped yet. Cancelled competitors order and within 3 days I received my merchandise. Thank you Etrailer.com. Ben. PS the item was 4 dollars cheaper on E trailer. 527803

After all this time I was able to use this crane. The delay was due to my inability to pick up 2 men rocks without a 3 prong tong; which I finally found somewhere else I'm not sure if I missed one you offer, but didn't see it as an option. I think that there ought to be a better adjustable legs. Because my truck sits a little low, the legs provided were useless to me. (As a resolve I attached the crane base to my roof rack with a steel cable to suspend the unit.) Today I finally was able to do what I needed to do. 454963

Received next day (a day early). Unpacked and assembled in 50 minutes. The only issue I had was all 4 openings on the base assembly where the legs attached were bent. Easily bent out with a crescent wrench. Have not had a chance to use it as of today. It looks like it should do what I want just fine. 552314

Fast shipping and packaged pretty good for something that weighs 135 pounds. Assembly is easy and it works just as described. I bought it to get my 5th wheel hitch out oh the truck - the reach is limited so I still need to drag it back towards the tail gate to lift it out. It is solid and well made. The lift portion with the jack isn't exactly light but it is manageable. This is going to be a great help loading the generator and other heavy items into the truck. I picked up some lifting straps at [retailer] so I'm all set. 343277

Went together real easy. You need to take the bolts away and just pin everything. That makes it easier to pull down as you have to lift the hoist at least a foot out of the mount well. I purchased three more receiver pins for the lift to accommodate this task. Great product! We use it to move engines, axles, landscape, anything heavy and pick up the riding lawnmower to swap blades. Awesome product!! 570905

This little Jib Crane is exactly as advertised and a wonderful value for the price. I am getting to the age where lifting anything 100 lbs or more is difficult to impossible. I found that, with this crane, my tasks become much easier. Once assembled, I found setup and breakdown to take no more than 5 to 7 minutes. I simply position my F150 pickup in my work area, attach and set up the crane, and go about my task. The crane also stores compactly on some shelving in my garage when not in use. The folks a E Trailer were very helpful also. Finally, shipping was very quick. 415416

Recieve on time and packaging was awesome. I bought this to pull an engine and little bit of position, engine is out. Product did as expected!! I ordered this on a Sunday and received it on Thursdays: very fast shipping for something that weighs so much. Box had come open, so I was worried that there might be something missing. Everything was accounted for, but I would recommend that the box have shipping strapping. One of the leg brackets on the base assembly was bent, but i was able to bend it back. This is the only reason why I ididn't give it 5 stars. Now to the review: great product, very sturdy well built and between the included instructions and the etrailer video, I had no problem assembling. Worked great! I had a large length of green oak (with a nice piece of burl) in my truck bed that I was able to easily take out of the bed and lower to the floor. I am sure that I will be using it for a lot of other things in the future. 336349

Works like a charm. Assembly is easy. Though packing of the unit suffered a lot in transit but the lift survived shipping with no damage at all. It arrived just in time to hoist my 300 lb generator out of my truck. Lifted it with ease. Definetly worth the price. 217312

Dana, i want to use this hoist for the same purpose as you, I have a 250b sliding hitch that I need to remove from my truck after vacation season and I would appreciate your help. Im up there in age 72 and my strength is now less than it was so I have two questions:1. how did you connect the hitch to the hook on the hoist...did you use straps, chains, other?2. when using the hoist to lift the hitch back into the truck to reinstall the hitch was hoist capable of maneuvering into the hitch into the correct position or did you have to use muscle power to finally reposition the hitch after it was in the truck bed? Many thanks,

Order form was easy to navigate. Communication was immediate from etrailer. Thank you George J. The crane is well designed and manufactured. It easily lifted my chipper on and off my truck. I would recommend reviewing rigging procedures to insure safe operation and to avoid damage to your item or your truck. I am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it. Thank you etrailer. 329474

I just finished the initial assembly and use of my hitch crane to unload a folding motorcycle trailer from the bed of my F-150 pick-up truck. There are only a few fasteners that are required (which were provided), and the assembly was fairly intuitive. There was adequate adjustment in the leg assemblies, and I had no issues leveling the horizontal bar with the T-bar inserted into my hitch. If you're lifting from the truck to the ground, make sure you have sufficient rigging from the truck bed to your lifting point. Otherwise, you’ll not be able to unhook, or possibly even set the load on the ground; and will then need to put the load back in the truck and re-rig to allow you to unhook the load when it’s set on the ground. I wish the crane had a little longer reach (a larger circumference from the vertical post). But, the crane will still be very valuable to me; allowing me to load and unload my folding motorcycle trailer, lawn mower, generator, and other such loads when other personnel are not available to help me. Overall, I’m very satisfied. ...just need to determine how I can minimize it’s footprint when not in use. I have another motorcycle to transport in a couple weeks which will give me an opportunity to take a photo illustrating the practicality of the crane while in use. I’ll try not to forget to take a few photos and attempt to post them here. I’ll do the same if I have a good solution for minimizing the crane’s storage space. 498551

I received p/u crane yesterday. I was quite pleased product came in a sturdy box and was packaged properly and their were no missing components. I put it together this morning and it is very well made. I picked up my generator and put it in the bed of my pick up (2007 Tundra 4x4). So all I need to do is go camping and try it out in the rough. 403160

I ordered this Friday morning and received it early Saturday afternoon. Free shipping in only 1 day was awesome. I assembled this product in about 20 minutes and put it through the motions. All worked just fine. I did not lift anything with it but did not see why it wouldn't do the job when needed. Broke it all down and put it away in about 10 minutes. Assembly and disassembly will be faster next time now that I know how it goes together. It will make lifting my 300 pound generator a breeze to load/unload without having to find a 2nd person to come help me lift it into the bed of my truck 565840

I purchased this crane to help lift a Yamaha 6300iSDe generator in and out of my truck. It was easy to assemble and install. I've only used it once so far but it seems to work well and I am able to lift the generator in and out of the truck by myself (for heavier loads I would recommend a second set of hands to help). It easily lifts the generator which weighs about 260lbs. The construction feels sturdy and I'm happy with the purchase. If you're looking for a way to move a generator or other heavy equipment in and out of your truck then this is the answer. I would recommend this product to others. 152101

It was fairly easy to install into my receiver hitch. It picks up my 500 Lbs hit-n-miss engine with no problem. One thing you may look out for is if your not on very level ground the lift will try to swing toward the low side. Could be tough to keep it under control with a loaded lift. It is well build and will store away nicely in the broken down pieces when not in use. 279252

I bought this for the express purpose of lifting my 350lb Demco HiJacker hitch out of the bed when not required. It will still work, but to reach the hitch I have to physically move it to the tailgate. Pay attention to the length of reach. I otherwise is exactly as advertised. Packaged nicely, assembled easily. The only shortfall was the identification of what fasteners went where and how tight to tighten them, but they only fit in certain holes so it was easy to figure out. 512417

Received lift in a few days. Had to wait a week before I putb it together. after unpacking found that Nut and bolt missing ( 9&10 ). also found base assy ears(4) for legs were bent. After fixing them so they would work , I started assembling the lift. When I tried to put the legs on they would not fit as my Dodge Dakota was too low to the ground.( Factory height ) I had to go buy sq. tubing to make longer link bars ( 7 )so the legs go out enough to support the lift. The lift now works OK but if I was not a retired Commercial HVAC Mechanic it would be worthless and have had to send it back. All in all it now will serve my purpose as I leave it connect to the truck. 566738

Got it put together this morning. Everything fit and looks good. Looks strong. Welds look good. Boom moves around easily. I set it up on an incline as you can see in the photo, just to get a look at it. I promise I will not use it on an incline. If I use the 750 or 1000 lb section, I will probably need to take tailgate off, which is smart to do anyway (probably would never lift that much anyway unless I really had to). Will be able to use the 500lb hole for most of the stuff I have for home projects and camping, even the garden tiller. And should store easily in my truck tool box. I would much rather have one of these than one that mounts in the bed and screws up the bed liner. Im pleased. Neighbors will probably be walking over to take a look at it. Maybe somebody else on the street will want one. 115193

I received my truck crane today & it was a very heavy box, which the UPS driver was not to happy about ? My back won't let me lift heavy things as I get older & smarter so leverage is good right? I broke with tradition by assembling the crane on the vehicle. 1st I put the stabilizing feet together & mounted to the base then I put the receiver hitch arm on & mounted it to the vehicle & everything from that point on was just a matter of stacking the remaining parts until it was completed by loosely fitting the nuts & bolts & tightening them down after the assembly was right. Everything fit well though there were some metal burrs here & there left over from manufacturing, all easily removed with a screw driver & a hammer, the assembly was straight forward. I tested the crane out by picking up an engine using the 10,000# axle straps that I also bought from etrailer which I recommend as the flat D rings on the straps easily fit into the cranes chain hook. I like the fact that I can pick up the arm on the bottle jack so that I don't have to spend a lot of time hand pumping it all of the way up to take up the slack, so far I like it a lot & I can guarantee that E-trailer will sell a few more once my friends & family see it in action. 367680

The Hitch Mounted Crane is built strong. I was able to assemble the post, boom, and Ram Jack by myself with the Base assembly mounted to my hitch. It would have been safer and easier if I had had another person helping. The packaging was damaged from rough handling during shipping. UPS had to mummify the box with tap to keep the parts inside. There were no banding straps. Ends, sides, and corners were rounded and torn. The Ram Jack was partly outside of the box. One of the 2 bolts for mounting the Ram Jack was too short to secure the bottom to the post. The bolt end was about 1/8” down inside the nut after tightening. A couple of bolt threads should have been showing outside the nut after tightening. The factory installed 2” hitch on my 2001 Ford F-150 measures 16-1/4” off the ground (inside top edge to ground). This prevented me from attaching the two support legs for support. Even thou there were several mounting points on the legs to pick from. I do not recall the description details providing the lowest and highest mounting positions for the base to a truck hitch. The fabric bag provided to cover the greasy post bearings when not in use is very thin and cheap. It was already cut in several places from shipping. Recommend replacing and not using the original bag provided. Had my wife fix up a heavy cloth bag to use. Because one of the bolts was too short and crane could not be used on my 2001 F-150, I gave it a 3 rating. The crane should be usable on my new 2018 truck, which is on order. It will have a 2” hitch that measures about 20-1/2” off the ground. I too wish the boom was a little longer. 516087

Just got the crane yesterday. Box was damaged and one of the clips that is used on the leg assembly was bent pretty badly but overall the components were in good shape. Assembly took about 20 minutes or so, I did not need to make any height adjustments based on trailer hitch height which was nice. Hooked it up and cranked up my generator onto the tailgate of my F-350, was simple with no issues which is my intended primary use. Had to get the generator up to max height to get it onto my tailgate in the down position. So far so good, we'll see how it works when I'm not in my driveway and am up camping :) 240908

This is a very nice receiver hitch mount crane. The finish was excellent and the instructions were clear enough to assemble the product with no questions. There was one major problem that prevents me from giving the product an excellent rating. The base assembly that fits into the "T" bar would not fit. It would jam up when inserted about halfway through. I tried from both sides of the "T"bar and also rotating the "T" bar 180 degrees in the receiver hitch. The problem was that the finished weld inside the "T" bar was too large and the base assembly was getting pinched on the weld. I contacted etrailer and sent a few pics of the problem. They responded very quickly and shipped me a new base assembly and "T" bar along with a RMA shipping label. I received the replacement in 2 days and was up and running within 10 minutes. I have not had a chance to use the crane yet but am certain it will work perfectly. Etrailer was GREAT to do business with, had a really good price and the shipping was fast and, to add to the deal, free (a BIG advantage with something as heavy as this item). I will forward pictures when I put it to use. 100010

When I received your truck mounted hydraulic crane, to be honest, the hardest thing was to remove it from your shipping container. Please don't misconstrue this as being negative in nature. On the contrary, you have done a brilliant job in your efforts to protect the individual crane parts within during shipping !!! I found the crane to be very easy to put together and take apart after use. I was highly satisfied with its operation and use. In my opinion, it met or exceeded all my expectations. The only negative thing was the cheap bag that was included to protect the crane's main bearing; it ripped apart just after one use !!! 344063

I purchased this product to take my 5th wheel hitch and generator in and out of the truck. I did not want a permanent mount. Received the product very promptly. Like many other comments the box was beat up however there was a thin wood liner in side which helped prevent damage. It was easy to put together. It is rather heavy and will be stored in pieces. I have not used it yet. 545389

I purchased this crane to help me to load up my motorcycle for when I take it to the track. I don't always have able bodied people around to help me load and unload when using a ramp, and I've had the tires and my shoes slip and slide on the ramp surface. I'm trying to avoid the time and money it will take to repair myself or the bike if I end up dropping it. I set everything up for the first time last night and with a few adjustments to the lifting straps on the bike I was able to get the bike into the bed. With a few more adjustments I should have a quick and systematic way to load the bike. The fabrication of the crane came in good working condition and all the pieces fit together easily. There is a little bit of slop in the system from all the pinned connections but once the crane is loaded everything stays tight. 207059

First I want to thank Chris W for her help in ordering and keeping me informed of the entire ordering and shipping process. Placed order on Monday and received it on Thursday. Box was big and heavy. I did not make a friend of the UPS delivery person. Box was banded. Thank goodness for that. Opened the box and made sure everything was in it as we were going to put it to work on Saturday. Nothing missing or damaged. Needed to move motors from their storage to another garage. Checked out the Long Ram Jack. I needed to add fluid so I purged all the fluid. The instructions stated never to mix different brands of oil together. Filled with new fresh fluid and purged the system of air. With the crane mounted we loaded the motor into the truck bed. We then put the crane in the bed and took off the leveling legs and place them in the bed. The other two items you can keep connected to the truck hitch. Just slide the horizontal base assembly in the T-shaped connector and insert the pin into the vertical hole that they provided. When you get to your destination you take out the pin slide it to the outside and mount the two legs and insert the crane in the vertical tube. At our destination just mounted the crane on the passenger side and lifted the motor out of the bed and placed it on the engine stand. Moving the second motor was as easy as moving the first motor. Overall things went well on its first use. I feel that I got value for the money that I spent. I did not look forward to lifting two motors in and out of the bed and putting them onto engine stands. This item fit the bill. No complaints on construction and the quality of the build that was received. Since the crane arm has limited reach think about your move so that you can better place your item in the bed. If you load on the driver side but at the destination you need to mount the crane on the passenger side you might not have the reach to hook up the item. For storage plan on this taking up some space. I took off the Long Ram Jack and stored it with the ram pointing up. The Boom and Post I stored with the Thrust Bearing pointed up. The other items found a home next to the Boom. Suggestion: Better cover material for the thrust bearing and shaft. Maybe a heavy-duty canvas bag would be better. 461590

You guys have a serious problem between the warehouse and final delivery. Ordered a 5er hitch last month and the base unit was lost, took an extra week to receive a replacement. On this crane shipment, the box was seriously compromised, most the staples were ripped open and the box was only held together by the shipping strap. I hope all the contents are there - will not be able to check until this weekend. Don't know if it's etrailer or UPS, but something is definitely wrong. 404116

I've had this for a year and still can't rave enough about it. I used it last month to help my brother move a Plymouth 440 short block to his house, it worked great. I use it all the time for my vw motors. Save your back and buy one of these, they are very useful and worth every penny. They break down and don t take up much space in the garage. The quality is great and it works probably better than you might think. I give it a solid A! 401264

I like to camp with my wife. I load my Yeti cooler an the back of our camper for weight distribution, but when we get to the campground I want to put the cooler on the back of the truck so when we go to an adventure we have our cold drinks and food. My wife is petite, and the cooler at 200 plus pounds, well she is not much help in the lifting department. This will get the cooler off the back of the camper and lift it into the truck without having to dump all the cold ice and water. Also great lifting the generator too. 320050

So, where to begin. I ordered the hitch mount crane to assist loads of 200 lbs. Plus. I paid and was informed that the item would be shipped that day. It was during the holidays so I expected it to arrive a week after it was ordered. It wasn't. I then called and found out it had not been shipped at all. Izzy then said she would get it out that day from the source. True to her word she did. 4 days later the package arrived. The next day I assembled the crane and when inserting the chain link into the receiver slot, I discovered it was not manufactured correctly. So I called and spoke to Suzanne. She asked me to send her pictures to show what was wrong. I did, she couldn't open them and emailed me back to ask for them again. So I sent her three emails so she could see the issue. She forwarded these to the manufacturer and sure enough they had assembled the arm upside down. So they said they would send another one and replace the original. I went to a local retailer, picked up 5 links of a rated chain with longer links, replaced the hook, and chain so that it would work, and called them to not send this 140 lb item again. All of their service people were solution oriented and helpful. We stopped the shipment and now we wait and watch what happens. 235355

It works fine. I load large tool boxes, generators and fuel tanks with ease. Assembly takes time, but lifting large heavy items make it one of my most valuable tools. Thanks for asking and following up.

Etrailer customer service guy was great to help me place the order. The item that we bought was very poor quality and we called to make a compaint. Etrailer pretended (it seemed) that this was the first time they heard of the problem. The problem was The Mast did not fit into the bore (the yellow part didn't fit into the black part) The bearing did not fit . This was definately due to poor welding. I had to machine out the bore to fit the bore to fit the welding. Lucky we had the ability to do this. We got no replies to the complaint, or pictures we were asked to send. No answers at the manufacturer website contact telephone in california. 101969

  • The Demco Hijacker AutoSlide part # DM8550034 is a great hitch for your 2017 Ram 2500 short bed with the factory rail kit. It does require the adapter part # DM6099 to be used like you referenced. The hitch as a total is pretty heavy at 273 lbs but it can be taken apart to make it easier. The head assembly of the hitch is held on with one large pin. The other option is a hitch mounted crane. The MaxxTow crane part # MT70238 that can lift the hitch into the bed and lower it when you...
