Power Mountain Tallboy Bottle Jack for 2026 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 36FL

Updated 02/21/2026 | Published 02/17/2026

Question:

I have a 2026 Forest River Salem Hemisphere 36FL 5th wheel that has a GVWR of 15,500lbs. Would this 6 ton bottle jack work for my application? I am interested is this model specifically because over the 12 ton model because its lighter, has a lower lift and higher max lift. I just dont want to put myself in bad situation if I ever needed to use the jack.

Hey Mark, the Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack # PM34FR that you referenced will work for you. This has a 6 ton/12,000 lb weight capacity and while your 5th wheel weighs more than that if loaded to the max the jack wouldn't be lifting the entire weight of the trailer so based on that it would work for you. Are you thinking like for changing spares you'd want this?

I love this set I split it up into 2 groups and only what I need is in the RV Trailer. The rest is with my utility trailer. It is very heavy and I wanted to save weight in the RV Very solid build and packaging is nice and quiet but a little overkill Doug

I bought this one to use with a Brinkley Model I-265. Total weight is about 10k pounds. This jack lifts everything easily. I think it would work fine for you (even at the heavier the trailer) as you would not be using it to lift the whole trailer by itself. The trailer tongue jack as well as the other side wheels or jack stands will share the weight. I was impressed by the ability to adjust for various lift heights. It is very stable. Really impressed with it. You could also user it for what it is probably designed for: to get off road vehicles out of trouble.

I have assembled it in two modes. One mode is for my 10,000 lb. Airstream, and the other mode is for my 8,000 lb. fully loaded bed F-350 Superduty Dually Diesel. Depending on the ground surface, I will also use a wider base that I used for sand with my JEEP even though this has a wide base. Thankfully, I have not needed to use it, but I feel I am fully prepared. I recommend this product.
