Can the Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack be Stored Laying Down?

Question:
Can the Tallboy off-road bottle jack be stored in a vehicle temporarily 2 weeks or so on its side with the oil fill plug facing up? I couldn’t find any warnings about that in the instructions.

Hey Mike!
The Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack # PM34FR can be stored in that manner (with the oil plug facing up), but my contact at Power Mountain stressed that it should only be done for a short period of time, so I recommend setting it back upright as soon as you're able to.
Are you going on a trip and trying to pack everything in the vehicle?

Yes, heading out for a 10 day offroad trip soon. I have a rooftop case with all my recovery gear, and the jack only fits sideways with the base plate removed. Good to know there is some concern about it. I'll try to keep it in the bag inside the vehicle if I can find a good home for it. Thanks for the response!
