This is a nice small model that will fit in your toolbox just nicely. It will come in handy if you are at the boat launch and you want to stick some grease in your bearings before you go in. It also works afterwards if you need to get some water out, you never know when you need some. This is an essential tool to keep in your toolbox. At this point we will go ahead and show you how it goes together. It is a pretty simple device really. You start by unscrewing the head off the cartridge. With the plunger here you give it a good turn and it comes apart. With your grease cartridge you take the cap off and it goes in the tube. You pierce that and it goes in there, let the tension go back down and in a few seconds you are squirting grease. As you can see the whole unit is all steel construction with a nice painted surface. You can tell it has these nice grooves in the handle which are called knurling for nice one handed operation. This gun also only takes standard 3 ounce cartridges. Haven’t used it yet. Set it up and loaded it looks like it will do the job I bought it for. The hose is a little on the low quality side. Where it was bent for packaging damaged the hose but will use it till it gives up then will replace it with better hose.
A piece of junk. The tube would not fit into the gun and grease leaked out all over. Finally gave up and threw it into the trash.
After much frustration quit trying to use it. Working parts below inferior. May have helped if instructions were included.
Purchased this to save some room on the gun itself, turns out the 3 oz capacity doesn’t last very long at all! Suggest going bigger unless you using this on hinges primarily

Arrived in pristine new condition and one day before expected. Will use for first time tomorrow. This should lubricate the hubs on my 20,000 lb. 5th wheel RV very easily and well.

Excellent plan on using it for my boat...only problem is like all grease guns, hard to get on the zerk and to remove
First canister went great I had a little bit of trouble pulling the empty canister out of the gun no big deal . When I put the second canister in , the bottom lever went loose and forced all of the grease out of the gun and onto the floor since I didn’t have the head attached yet . I was able to salvage about half of the grease that fell so I’m not too upset , they should come with some kind of lock or instructions.
I bought this in conjunction with Bearing Buddies for my utility trailer (btw, the Bearing Buddies are great!). However this grease gun is of poor quality. The grease cartridge was a tight fit when first installing, and was impossible to replace the empty grease cartridge. I accidentally wound up damaging the grease gun cylinder trying to remove the cartridge. I eventually threw the grease gun away. Do not waste your money on this grease gun - it's not worth it (finest made in China). :(

As for the product -- I went with 1980 SS in the end. Easy to install, load with grease. My trailer's wheels were blissfully silent across an 800 mile round trip.
(Now to return the ones I didn't need...)
I like the compact size, which makes it easy to keep in my box of trailer maintenance gear. It is easy to use. I have a couple issues with this unit.
1. Spent cartridges are really difficult to remove.
2. I have had trouble with the grease leaking by the plunger. At one point, I thought the cartridge was empty since squeezing the trigger did nothing. When I pulled back on the plunger handle, a lot of grease came out the back.

The hose has a permanent "kink" due to packaging. Overall a good unit.

Great price, quick delivery, went on trailer fine. Only one little problem withshipping, the tube of grease got smashed by the hub it was in same box, but enough left in tube to do the job. The trailer is still rolling ok and breaks working so I am very happy with etrailer and will use them on anything I need in the future, excellent + is my rating the installation videos are some of the best how to.

After a year it still works well. Its the ideal size for use with small trailers as there is no bulk to worry about when adding lube. Cartridges that fit are easy to find as you run out of lube.
