Gives a factory look.

by:
2006 Dodge Sprinter

all appears to be great though I haven't had the opportunity to install yet. Other work has been pushed ahead of this installation.

by:

The trailer connector is just the ticket. It's well thought out and not too bad to install---that is if you buy from etrailer.com. They can't be equaled for do it your self advice as well as the videos that I would have been dead in the water without. I have a 1978 Argosy Minuet with entirely different wiring order. Thank You Again I'll be back.

by:
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Very nice and solid product, EXCEPT for the locking clip on the wiring harness plug which is VERY fragile. I broke mine while being very careful. I recommend planning your install so you connect the plug ONCE only. In my install I was able to assemble the socket and plug on the bench and then tape up the whole assembly to hold it together and shed water before sliding it in the hole in the hitch. Hopefully tape will hold the plug on the socket as the fit is loose.

by:

High quality product that I custom fit on my RAV4. Connections all came with dielectric grease pre applied and nice rubber seals to keep moister and dirt out which was nice to see. Would have given 5 stars but the wire coloring for RV standard was slightly off as the green and brown wire were swapped but didn’t effect function, just make sure to pay attention when wiring so you don’t connect them incorrectly.

by:
2018 Chevrolet Colorado

Happy with it over all. I would suggest that the company replace connectors with the heat shrink ones that they recommend.

by:
Chevrolet Colorado

It’s a nice kit for my Chevy Colorado just wish it had a better wiring diagram. They do have a good video on YouTube that I played on my phone and paused for each wire. Just would of been easier if it was on paper.

Instructiond on package were so vague and went through 5 videos to get instlation correct, also no dielectric in kit to put on connectors as instructed.

by:
Chevrolet Colorado

The service provided by George and Lacey was the best part of this transaction. Lacey helped me find the right parts and sent me a video about installation. They both worked to correct my order and customized the delivery date.

The parts were precisely what I needed to get power to the bumper for a small trailer and bike rack. A few comments: order more butt connectors as the mfr sent 6 and there were seven wires on my Colorado. When connecting the tail harness to the truck harness, be sure all the wires on each side are the same length. The yellow wire strippers take some getting used to, so practice on several wires first. I’m an ‘average’ handy person so these last two suggestions didn’t come naturally to me, but overall this was a pretty simple installation. When I tested it and all the lights worked, I was a happy camper.

by:

Perfect fit for my 99 Yukon Denali. It had the wire bundle at the bumper but no plugs. This was easy to splice together/heat crimp. All the colors matched up except my main 12V positive was orange from the fuse box. Very happy with the quality of product. I would buy and install again if needed.

by:
2016 Chevrolet Colorado

Easy installation! Kit only supplied 6 connectors when there were 7 wires ...... oops!

Steve, the 6 connectors are correct. The ring connector that attaches to the ground wire is the 7th connector.

I still like the wiring harness I purchased from your company last year. Thank you for asking.

2012 Dodge Ram Pickup

This is a fantastic quality part and an excellent alternative to Ford's OE connector (the difference being this one is far less expensive and does not have the Ford emblem. I used the connector to replace the 7-Pin/4-Pin combination plug on my 2002 Ford Super Duty after swapping the bed/bumper/tailgate from a 2012 Super Duty. It is a vastly superior connector in that the 4-Pin is integrally wired with the 7-Pin as opposed to having the 4-Pin spliced into the harness. I would definitely recommend this part for any towing rig. I eve put one on my father's 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. Don't hesitate to order this one!

by:
2017 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have a 2017 SantaFe I have 2 different trailers and need both types of plugs I am using this product along with a curt class III hitch and a curt 56332 wiring harness.
I want the finished outlet to be behind the factory cover I had to modify the Hopkins bracket by bending it in the opposite direction on a angle because the hitch is in the way .a little effort and its great

1992 Ford F-150

The trailer plug went bad on my 92 F150 several years ago. This plug is the same as my 10 F350. I like the combination 7 spade/4 pin. Other combos have a rubber flap to cover the 4 pin plug. I doubt I’m that disciplined and I would think that rubber cover would dry rot and break off. This plug has spring closure doors and looks great!

by:

Product worked as expected.

by:

This is the same look as a factory install. I was greatly pleased with the overall installation. Super easy to wire up and looks great in the bumper. My truck has the clean factory look for way less than what they had quoted for an install.

by:
2016 GMC Canyon

Great product!
Fits the factory hole
in the bumper perfectly.

Attaching the wires was a pain but that was due to GM saving $1 by just cutting the wire ends and not installing a plug......but they were all there so that was a plus.
If you do install this setup AND you install a hitch, leave the spare tire down while you attach the wires. There's plenty of wire with the plug but the factory wires are up kinda close to the underside of the bed so not a lotta room.

ALSO spend the extra couple dollars and get the heat shrink butt connectors, they're available here in whatever size you need.

Another thing to think about, if you plan on eventually installing bed/ cargo lights any time soon, now is the time to add that extra power wire before you crimp, shrink, and tape the hot wire......

by:
2018 Chrysler Pacifica

Bought this trailer connector to use instead of the flat 4 wire connector. Wanted a nice finished look on the rear of the vehicle without any hanging wires. Mounts to the Draw Tite mounting bracket without any modification. Only minor problem I had was with the wiring. The wire colors are not the same between the 4 and 7 pole connector. A call to etrailer got the problem resolved. Great customer service!

by:
Ford F-350 Super Duty

This is a great affordable option to replace your worn out or damaged OEM trailer recepticle. The fit is perfect. It is made by Pollak which is the same as the Ford one you replace. I damaged mine and took the pin connectors out of new housing and installed it on my F350 without splicing wires. Worked perfectly.

by:
2022 Chevrolet Colorado

perfect fit for my 2022 chev colorado coudnt find in canada

by:

Quality is good, but wire colors aren’t standard and there were no instructions in the package for how to wire. I had to google standard pin outs and colors. Pigtail is too short, by about 2 feet and I had to splice twice to make it reach the inside of my vehicle (GMC SAVANA). Once I did all that it worked perfectly but what should have been a 1 hour job turned into an all day project. Do not recommend. Go to your nearest RV store.

For Hopkins wiring they follow the following wiring scheme: Red = Left turn and stop White = Ground Blue = Electric brakes Green = Right turn and stop Black = Battery Brown = Running lights Yellow = Reverse lights. If you need to add additional wire we do carry jacketed 7 wire by the foot as part # DW04914-1.

by:
2005 Volkswagen Touareg

Excellent product easy to install, very straightforward directions.

by:

Perfect connector for what I was looking for on my 2019 RAV4. I originally installed it with the L bracket, but later changed it to be flush in the bumper. Looks very clean. The prefab pigtail made install into the car very easy as well.

by:

I’m glad I chose this over a single plug! No matter what you have on the hitch, you’ll have the plug for it. The pigtail is plenty long enough and the bracket makes for a simple installation. Get some shrink tube or shrink wrap butt connectors as the ones included aren’t going to keep weather out for long.

  • Is the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket a Fit for Ford Trucks
The 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets w/ Mounting Bracket and Wiring # HM40975-11998 is a hard wire application, as you can see in the linked installation video we made of this being put on a 2008 Ford F-250.
