It looks great! I am glad the install went easy for you. What are you planning on using the hitch for?

by:

Very heavy duty hitch! Got it for my 2004 F550. Installation was tricky having a service bed on my truck and I did not want to drop the fuel tank to do it. Overall, very solid investment and shipping was fast.

by:

It's just like the add said, perfect fit. It only took 20 minutes to install

Its been a busy year of work, I pull a backhoe with the truck I put the hitch on and its holding up great. The paint still looks good. Ill definitely get another one if I get another truck.

@Herbert 20 minutes to install, that is pit stop timing Herbert! Glad to hear the hitch is holding up as it should, and that you make it put in a good years work =)

I received the hitch yesterday and just got it mounted. I couldn't be happier with it, is about as stout and well built hitch as I've ever seen, thank you.

Am still glad that I went with the curt, I will be getting the same for the next f-350,450 or 550 that I get

by:

Over all good fit keep in mind on my F-550 I need to low fuel tank not drop just Lowe in place.

by:

great fit on 2011 single wheel cab & chaasis F350. Super heavy duty and well made with a thick powder coat finish. Much more robust than other hitches I have used or seen. I have bought two other "Curt" hitches since this one and have been just as impressed. 5+ stars

by:

My 2019 f450 chassis cab had an end of frame fuel tank that had to be lowered to gain access to tighten the forward hitch bolts. Two of six mounting holes had to be drilled. Marking the hole location was easy as the other four boltz held the hitch in position for marking.

A floor jack is useful in raising and lowering the jack and tank.

Strongly suggest starting project with as little fuel in tank as possible.

Im very happy with the hitch and how well it fits. It is very beefy and i dont expect any issues from it in service.

Ordered this part and was left in silence for 4 days. I called etrailer and was told the part had not shipped yet. I asked if there were a better or similar part. The representative helped me find a better part for comparable price. I was instructed to cancel the original part due to it not shipping yet and they would send out the new one. An hour later I received an email that the cancelled part had shipped, and I could no longer cancel the item, instead when it showed up to me I could send it back for $[XX] shipping that I pay.! day later the wrong part and the right part show up together and the shipping box is demolished and has bent ears at securing points. Parts this size andd weight should not be sent this way, poor planning on etrailer side.

by:

Never recieved my hitch, never recieved a tracking number either, ups says it was delivered and its not at my house...sweet

by:

My new hitch arrived and I was concerned because the box took a beating in shipping. Before I opened the box I called, explained what I received and the representative was great, they gave me their direct extension if I was missing anything. I was shocked when I finished opening the box - I was all bubble wrapped and on the corners it had a layer of cardboard and bubble wrapped again. The nut and bolts along with the instructions were all safe tucked into the tube and covered so they couldn’t fall out It’s good to see a company that cares about their customers experience not just their payment.

2001 Ford F-550 Cab and Chassis

Just installed this the other day on a 2001 Ford F-550 cab and chassis. There were factory holes already for the two front bolts so I only had to drill the two in the back. Make sure you have a nice, new drill bit as drilling up from the bottom on the frame can be a bit of a task and a sharp bit will lessen that burden.

The size of this receiver is impressive, looks very sturdy and MADE IN THE USA!

by:

Put this on my Sterling AcTerra
Mounting
went well. Air bag made me mount it a little farther back but it ain’t going anywhere. Also didn’t have to move my taillights then.

Doesn't fit all advertised truck applications! Did not fit 2022 F550 crew cab 4x4 w/Douglass service body. The length from the rear mount bolts to the front are 16in while the available frame holes on the truck were only 12 1/2 in apart.

Sorry to hear that, Thomas. This hitch does state drilling is necessary for the install though, so it is not a bolt on application. It would be nice if it was, but alas, there are too many variations with cab and chassis models for that to happen. It looks like this goes for all the hitches offered for your vehicle as well. I do also have to point out that the only preexisting holes in the frame should be on the sides. You should be drilling four new holes (two on each side) for the bolts that go in the bottom of the frame. Is this not how you did it?

by:

All in all the hitch is what it should be, the packaging lacks a lot to be desired. The box came all ripped and had holes all in it, two of the mounting angles were damaged, and a lot of touchup paint will have to be used. The two star rating reflects how it is packaged just in a cardboard box with no protection around the hitch itself.

by:

Fit like a glove. Beast of a hitch. T hanks!

by:
Ford

So this hitch you must drill new holes to mount, which I was aware of. Instructions describe that the 2 larger holes on the back must line up with 2 factory installed rivits, they did NOT line up with the rivits. After a phone call to Curt they knew of the issue. There is a certain combo Ford built of these trucks that the rivits were not in the pattern this hitch is made for. I had to drop the fuel tank, cut off 2 of the factory rivits and them clamp the receiver on and drill the new holes. Curt is aware of this issue, but the trucks built were this issue were a low production runs with a different fuel tank size. Receiver is great and seems well built, but kinda a pain to install

Looks good, excellent fit, very happy with this product. Best thing about it? etrailer customer service. Olivia did a terrific job. Found me the right product, took care of all the little details, and shipped the hitch out fast. Lots of companies have forgotten how important good customer service is, apparently etrailer remembers. Thanks Olivia!

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2016 E-450 Cab and Chassis
Hey John. The 2016 E-450 is a completely different chassis than the F-450 so the Curt Hitch item # C15845 will not fit. I'll get that question fixed because it is confusing. To add rear hitch to your 2016 E-450 cab and chassis you'll need to go with a universal fit because there are no custom options. Depending on how low your rear bumper sits, I recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch item # 41990-07 with 7" brackets or item # 41990-16 with 16" tall brackets. These are class V hitches with a...

Hi Garrett! We do have options for your 2015 Kenworth T270, but there are not going to be any custom fit hitches available. If I were doing this, I would go with the Curt Class 5 Universal Weld-on Hitch w/ Brackets - 2-1/2" Receiver - 44" Wide # C87CR. It can tow up to 20K, has a 2-1/2" receiver, and is American made.
