Question:
I didn’t think you were supposed to drill through the upper or lower web on these trucks

Hey Nathan. It's not recommended to drill into the upper and lower flanges or near the edges of the web where they meet. Drilling into the center of the vertical web is ok in specific areas.
To add a hitch to your 2022 Ford F-450 cab and chassis that does not require drilling, I recommend the Curt item # C92KR. This is a custom fit class IV hitch with a 2" receiver that installs in pre-drilled holes in your truck's frame. It has a 10,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,000 lbs maximum tongue weight. These capacities can be increased to 12,000 lbs and 1,200 lbs when used with a weight distribution hitch.
The Curt Hitch item # C15845 you were looking at does fit your 2022 Ford F-450 cab and chassis. It will require drilling a few 19/32" holes in your truck's frame. This is a class V hitch with a 2-1/2" receiver that has a 20,000 lbs towing capacity and a 2,700 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have attached a couple of diagrams with the dimensions of this hitch below.
Please note that both the Curt Hitch item # C15845 and item # C92KR will only fit if your truck's frame is 34" wide measured from the outside of the rails.
