The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver has been incredible over the last year! I'm very glad I purchased it for my 2018 Cayenne and will be doing so again with my next vehicle. I've towed my 400lb Moto Guzzi on the back for a 5 hour trip (both ways) with zero issues right after getting it and installed the receiver myself with a buddy pretty easily. etrailer shipped it in perfect condition and was easy to work with, and I can tell they care about their customer service as they even checked in with me to share my experience! You will absolutely not be disappointed with this purchase. The instructions to install were easy to follow and as long as you torque the bolts properly, you're going to have a life long receiver!
Fit and finish are great. I didn't give it an Excellent because it didn't have the stock tow points in the hitch. Other than that it was flawless and I was able to install by myself, taking my time and being careful, in less than 3 hours.
Few notes: Pull fender trim straight out, perpendicular to the body, as the clips are fragile plastic and can break. Tail light securing "bolt" is retained, that is, it won't come out so you don't have to worry about it falling down into the paneling. Tail lights come out by pulling straight back - make sure plastic retaining bolt is pulled as far as it will go into the interior of the vehicle. Tail light electrical connector is removed by pulling red tab up, away from light assembly, and then pressing the black tab in it. Pull connector up/away from light assembly. Black pins in fender are a pain to remove, even after pushing the center pin all the way down. Work cautiously here to avoid scraping the paint; I ended up using needle-nose pliers to remove the darned things. I reused the foam insert, using my metal-cutting bandsaw (slower speed) for the trimming. Cut along the mold seam that's visible on the lower rear of the foam (back is back, front is front) and it should be perfect (instructions say it should be loose).
My Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver was delivered quickly and as advertised. What really shines about etrailer is the detailed instructions, including the video that was available covering the installation on my VW Touareg. Installation required a good bit more work than on some other vehicles, and I likely wouldn't have attempted it myself had I not been able to view the videos online and see that it looked like something I could handle. I'm only "handy" not a mechanic by any means and though it took some time, I was able to do it on my own, with some help from my wife when an extra set of hands was needed. The application specific, detailed instructions along with the video for some additional perspective helped the installation go smoothly.
Hitch shipped almost immediately and had frequent communication from e trailer on delivery status. Customer service was exceptional.
Vw dealer did install in less than 2 hours. Had done prior etrailer product installs and spoke highly of product. Overall a seamless experience and I saved hundreds from oem vw hitch quote. Strongly recommend etrailer and products.
Nice hitch, feels real solid, quick delivery. I was able to install in 2hrs. The tutorial video was very helpful but nothing can prepare you for removing the plastic wheel well trim. I did a little damage there. The hitch held up well to a big bike rack and will be towing snowmobiles come winter.
The trailer hitch fit perfectly. The instructions for installation were correct save six additional screws that needed to be removed from left and right wheel wells. My model did not have mud flaps. The hitch arrived with in a week. Excellent savings over OEM hitch. Thank you etrailer.

Great price for a heavy duty steel hitch bumper that was surprisingly easy to install by myself with the right tools and video instructions.
Fits my 2011 Cayenne S just perfectly. Very sturdy, sturdier than original bumper. I can tell by the weight, it's 40+ lbs, about twice of original one. Two inches hitch works in every scenario. BTW delivery was quick, got in like 3-4 days. Thanks!

Trailer hitch fit like a glove, looks like it was installed at Porsche Factory. The light hook up was purchased at dealer. and had to have them add a part for $800.00 they forgot to sell me to put on. but the trailer hitch is great. not used yet but ready when needed.
This Curt hitch feels like a solid product. Install was straightforward but required removal of the rear bumper cover and headlights. All in it was about a 90 minute project.
etrailer shipped quickly, but I do wish the product had been packaged better. The hitch broke through the box in transit and got a little dinged up. The damaged areas aren't visible once installed so I just touched it up with some paint so it doesn't rust as easily.

Glad we had the right fit for you Tyler, sorry about the box damage. That was smart to touch it up with some paint. I keep a can of Rust-Oleum spray paint to touch mine up once a year or so, the road debris isn't so nice on it. What do you plan on using the hitch for?
The hitch and cover look great. Install went fine and quality is high. The packaging did not fully survive the shipping with some scratches on the hitch ends that were exposed. No directions were included so I had to find torque settings on the Internet forums.

Sorry about the damage and missing instructions, Kirtland. If you ever run into this kind of thing again, we almost always have the instructions on our website, or we can get you the torque specs. That is definitely not something to guess. What are you going to be using the hitch for?
Installed this on my '12 Cayenne. Did the install myself. Fit perfectly. It's held up great. I recommend the hitch.
I also used the Tekonsha Modulite ZCI trailer light. That was awesome. No splicing of wires. Worked great with Porsche which can be very difficult to put a wiring harness on.
Great service. Purchased for a 2014 VW Touareg.
-Easy to find the hitch I needed. Installation video was spot on. This was very helpful with the over complicated VW install. Product was as described and shipped very quickly. My only issue was the packaging. Hitch was not damaged. Looks like they fit the hitch in diagonally but the side wall did not hold once the box was picked up. There were some non-legit looking sites advertising a cheaper price. However, of the reputable hitch sites it had the best pricing I could find and they offered free shipping.
Great hitch for a good price and installation looks like a factory install. You’ll need a friend to help with the install and some inexpensive plastic body tools to help getting body panels off without any scratches. For a rookie that’s handy with most tools, I’d rate the job an 8 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. Thinking of pulling off body panels on an expensive vehicle is rather daunting but the job is easier than it seems.
