There is just a single difference between the Curt and etrailer trailer hitches that fit your 2017 Volkswagen Touareg, which is the finish - the Curt has a glossier finish than the matte black finish of the etrailer hitch. The hitches that fit your '17 Touareg are the following part numbers:

- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13116

The matte black finish is nice as it hides the inevitable dings, scuffs and scratches better than the glossy finish, but since only the receiver shows on your VW, this won't make a huge difference. So if you don't feel strongly either way about the finish, then just go with the best price.
