  • How to Choose Correct Ball Mount Rise/Drop for a 2022 Nissan Rogue with etrailer Hitch Receiver
Thanks for reaching out and your purchase of the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e93ZR for your 2022 Nissan Rogue! To choose the correct ball mount you'll need to figure out the difference between the height of your hitch receiver and your trailer coupler. To measure your hitch receiver height you'll measure from the ground to the top inside of your receiver. When we installed this on a 2021 Rogue we found this height to be 11-3/4". Then for your trailer coupler height you'll need to...

  • Which Would Provide More Cushioning a Curt Rockerball or a Convert a Ball Cushioned Ball Mount
The Curt Rockerballs # C94CR will make a bigger improvement in ride quality over a Convert a Ball ball Mount like the part # AMSC8. The Rockerball allows quite a bit more movement than the ball mount which is why it does a better job.

  • Recommendation to Help Back and Forth Movement in Trailer Hitch While Towing
To help alleviate the back and forth chucking you are experiencing with your 2 inch receiver there are a couple of things I recommend doing. First is to use a cushioned ball mount, the Convert-A-Ball, which is designed to reduce this type of movement and additional road shock with its polyurethane cushioning interior; if you take a look at the accompanying diagram it displays the cushioned inside of the ball mount. I will list the different rise and drop available for this ball mount below....

  • Will a Cushioned Ball Mount Work with Surge Trailer Brakes
The cushion inside of the Convert-A-Ball cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 would have only a slight affect on the surge coupler on your trailer. You may not even notice it. The cushion is very dense and the more pressure that is put on it the firmer it gets. It would take more force to compress that cushion than to actuate the surge coupler. Cushioned ball mount # AMSC4 has a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop but there are other options if you need a different rise or drop to tow the trailer level: #...

  • Options to Help Sway and Bounce of a 6 x 10 Trailer Towed By a Chevrolet Tahoe With 3 Inch Lift
There are a few things that you can do that will help with the sway and bounce on your 6 x 10 trailer when you are pulling it with your Chevrolet Tahoe. The first thing you can try to do is tow the trailer level. If the tongue on the trailer is high, then the trailer will not have as much stability if it were level. You may want to consider the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Ball Mount with 8 inch drop, # AMSC8. This would lower the tongue of your trailer 2 inches from the 6 inch ball mount you...

  • Will Curt RockerBall Work With Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount With 8 Inch Drop
Ok, let's start with the Curt RockerBall, which is actually not going to be compatible with a cushioned ball mount, which the Convert-A-Ball is - for stability, the RockerBall can only be used with a standard ball mount. You would normally take the added height of the RockerBall into account, yes, but there isn't a standard ball mount with the drop you need to use the RockerBall, so I recommend instead going with the cushioned Convert-A-Ball ball mount and standard hitch ball. If you have...

  • How to Pick Out Ball Mount for 2014 Toyota Sienna Towing Boat Trailer
I wasn't able to find the coupler height of the trailer you are interested in so your best option would be to contact who you are buying it from and have them measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler lip with the trailer level. When we installed the Draw Tite # 76112 on a 2014 Toyota Sienna like yours we found that it measured 12 inches from the ground to the top of the hitch opening. If you compare that 12 inch figure to the coupler height you get for your trailer you'll be...

  • How to Choose the Correct Ball Mount and Hitch Ball for a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4
Before purchasing a ball mount and a hitch ball you should measure the height of your trailer hitch and compare that to the height of your coupler. I have attached an article that shows how to measure your hitch height and coupler height to find the correct rise or drop you need in a ball mount. Once you have determined the rise or drop that you need, you will want to choose a ball mount with the correct rise or drop that is rated for the weight of your trailer. It sounds like you currently...

  • Towing a Vehicle on a Tow Dolly Behind a Motor Home and Carrying Bikes at the Same Time
Curt offers dual hitch receiver # D-192 but it does not have a drop. It is rated for 3,500 pounds gross towing weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. But using it will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. I would normally recommend going with # D210 but it only has a 2-1/4 inch drop. Another option is to use a ball mount with 8 inch drop # AMSC8 with a bike carrier such as # Y36FR. But this may or may not work depending on how far it is from the face of the receiver...

All of the aftermarket hitches we offer for your 2014 Ford F-150 also have the same 2-inch size receiver tube and this is the size that is compatible with the cushioned ball mount you referenced, Convert-A-Ball # AMSC4.
