Question:
I have a 1998 K1500 Suburban. Without measuring, it appears that I have to drop my hitch with levelers and antisway bar approximately 8inch in order to tow the trailer level. What would you recommend?

It sounds like you are using weight distribution (levelers) so you would need a shank that offers enough drop to tow the trailer level. Curt weight distribution shank # C17124 offers 10 inches of drop on round bar weight distribution systems and 9 inches for trunnion bar systems. The holes in it are 3/4 inches in diameter and spaced 1-1/4 inches apart on center. If you know what weight distribution system you have I can determine if this shank is indeed compatible.
If by levelers you mean something other than weight distribution then you would just need a ball mount that has the right amount of drop such as # AMSC8.
I have included a link that explains how to measure for rise or drop needed to tow a trailer level.
