Expert Answers about Trailer Valet

  • Is Trailer Valet # TVXLV2 the Same as Trailer Valet XLv2?
  • We do have the Trailer Valet XLv2, it is part # TVXLV2. This trailer dolly has the solid rubber tires and stabilizing bracket you referred to as well as the 2" to 2-5/16" hitch ball adapter, which is what makes it different from the standard version of the Trailer Dolly XL. It also has a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 lbs, a trailer weight capacity of 10,000 lbs, is made of steel and has a 500-hour salt spray rating for corrosion resistance.

  • Will Trailer Valet V2 Fit Woodstock Mini Lite 2506

  • Will the Trailer Valet # STC-V211 Fit a 2011 Jayco Pop-up Camper
  • The installation bracket for the Trailer Valet # STC-V211 that you referenced takes up to 8 inches of space to mount on the trailer frame. If you have enough room to mount the unit, you should be fine being able to swivel it into position to travel because you should not have anything else extending over the side-rails of your trailer. In the picture I have attached are the measurements from the actual # STC-V211 we have on site. From the bottom of the wheel to the top of the unit while...

  • How to Maneuver a Trailer in Tight Parking Spaces
  • Yes, we do have a solution for you. I recommend the Trailer Valet XL trailer dolly # TVXL2 which has a 2" ball. This trailer dolly has an integrated drive system that allows you to easily move your trailer. The dual posi-traction wheels help you to maneuver in tight spaces. I've attached a couple of videos that will show you how easy it is to use. Trailer Valet also makes a version that comes with a 2 5/16" ball, # TVXL25.

  • Can the Trailer Valet XL Be Used on Gravel Inclines
  • If the incline is slight and the gravel isn't super deep the Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL25 would work. But if you have a steep driveway and/or deep gravel the wheels of the Valet are going to spin. In the video I attached a link to we show the unit being used in gravel. We also show it being used to move up a relatively steep incline. This does also have an internal brake that is demoed in the video I mentioned. When you stop cranking the handle the brake activates.

  • Will Trailer Valet Work On Grass And Gravel To Move 20 Ft Boat And Trailer
  • The Trailer Valet, part # STC-V211 may work with your lawn if the ground is not soft, and your tongue weight is not excessive. The gravel may be another issue. If the gravel is loose and does not provide a solid footing it would be difficult to move the # STC-V211 with the boat attached. I have attached a product review video of the Trailer valet you can check out. The cranking that powers the drive system would depend on how level the ground is and if there is solid footing for the...

It is a great product at a really good price. Prices on some products do change so this may only be for an allotted time.

  • Will the Solid Rubber Tire # TVXLSR work on the Trailer Valet XL with Pneumatic Tires?
  • We do offer replacement tires for the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly, # TVXL2 (2" ball) and # TVXL25 (2 5/16" ball). The replacements will be the pneumatic Trailer Valet Tire, # TVTR & the Replacement Inner Tire, # TVIT. Unfortunately, the newer Solid Rubber Tire, # TVXLSR will not work on the Trailer Valet versions that use pneumatic tires.

  • What are the Differences Between Trailer Valet V2 and Trailer Valet XL?
  • The Trailer Valet V2 # TVXLV2 has the advantage over the Trailer Valet XL # TVXL25 and I recommend going with it. The differences are that the V2 # TVXLV2 comes with a stabilizing bracket as well as a stainless steel hitch ball adapter to convert the 2" hitch ball to a 2-5/16" hitch ball for use with different coupler sizes. Apart from that, these two are the same product and offer the same 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity and 10,000 lb trailer weight capacity.

  • Dimensions Of Replacement Mounting Bracket For Trailer Valet
  • There is no weight rating for the Mounting Bracket, part # TV-0002. It is designed to replace the bracket for the Trailer Valet Trailer Jack, part # STC-V211. The Trailer valet has a weight capacity of 500 lbs. You may be able to install a different trailer jack in the bracket but since they do not test the bracket with any other manufacturer items, I cannot give you a weight capacity for the bracket or a guarantee it will work. I pulled one of the # TV-0002 from our warehouse and...

  • Trailer Dolly to Move Around a 9,000 Pound Trailer In Tight Areas
  • Your best option is going to be the Trailer Valet V2 Trailer Dolly # TVXLV2. None of the other dollies we have can even come close to the capacity of this dolly. It has a 2-speed mechanism operated with the included handle to allow you to move around the heavy trailer without needing a motorized dolly.

  • Using Trailer Valet To Move Trailer To Cement Pad Next To Driveway
  • The Trailer Valet V2 Trailer Dolly like part # TVXLV2 is the only product that we have that is rated to handle above 600 lbs in tongue weight. The drill is meant to be used on flat ground only. Using the drill on an incline poses safety issues and can very quickly burn out the drill if given too much torque. Use the hand crank on an incline. As long as the weight of the trailer plus tongue are within the weight capacity for the XL, and as long as your incline is less than 10 degrees,...

The Valet has 2 gears and depending on the degree the incline is you might find that the low or high gear is better suited for that particular incline. I have included a link to a video review for you.

  • Trailer Dolly Recommendation for Moving 5,000 lb Trailer by Hand

I attached an article on determining tongue weight as well for you to check out. The best dolly setup we have is the part # TVXL2 for if you have a 2 inch hitch ball or part # TVXL25 for if you have a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. Both of these have a 1,000 lb tongue weight capacity and have a crank handle that you can use to...

  • Recommended Trailer Dolly with Brakes for Moving 2000 Pound Trailer on Incline
  • We actually carry several trailer dollies that have an automatic brake. The one most appropriate for your 2000 pound trailer is the Trailer Valet 5X Swivel Jack and Trailer Mover # STC-V211. The 5X has a 15 inch lift and is rated for 500 pounds. It uses an integrated chain drive system that is powered by a hand crank. Add the drill attachment, # TVDA, to use your cordless drill to power the drive system if you'd like. Take a look at the videos I attached to see the dolly being used.

  • Trailer Valet XL Minimum Hitch Ball Height
  • The lowest height for the hitch ball on the Trailer Valet XL Trailer Dolly with Chain Drive - 2" Hitch Ball - 1,000 lbs TW # TVXL2 (or the # TVXL25 with the larger hitch ball) is 19-1/4 inches at the top of the hitch ball, so you'd be a little tongue high when moving your Scamp Camper. The extra 3-1/2 inches will bring the back end of your camper down, so you will want to account for that when moving the camper with this unit.

  • Will Trailer Valet XL Make it Up Inclines and Through Gravel
  • If you check out the review video I attached for the Trailer Valet XL # TVXL2 that you mentioned you can get an idea what conditions it can work in. We show it climbing a pretty steep incline as well as being used in gravel. It's hard to say if this would work for you since we don't know how steep of an incline you have, but we can say that it will handle inclines and gravel better than it's predecessor.

  • How Much Space is Required on the Trailer Frame to Mount the Trailer Valet Trailer Jack and Mover
  • We have tested the Trailer Valet, # STC-V211, on a trailer but not on coarse gravel. However, I feel that it would fair well because the dual wheels provide a wide surface area and the wheels are not hard plastic so they can move over a little rougher terrain than your average jack wheel. The bracket takes up 8 inches of real estate on the trailer frame. The unit has a capacity of 5,000 pounds but the further back on the frame it is the harder it will be to use the jack portion and maneuver...

  • Does the Trailer Valet XL Permanently Attach to a Trailer Frame
  • You are correct, the Trailer Valet XL part # TVXL2 does not attach to the trailer frame at all. Basically you just line up the hitch ball under the coupler and then pull back until the ball sits perpendicular to the ground. Check out the picture I attached that shows the system being pulled up underneath a coupler.

  • How to Remove Original Jack from 2015 Shorelander Boat Trailer
  • If you don't see any bolts holding the existing jack onto the trailer frame, it might have been installed by welding it in place. If this is the case, you'd need to grind off the welds, which is something you'd probably need a professional welding shop to handle for you. If the jack or the trailer frame is galvanized, grinding on the trailer can create toxic fumes. Once the welds are ground off, the old jack would be removed. Then, the trailer frame would need to be smoothed out and repainted...
