Question:

Is there a way to hook this dolly up to the tongue hitch of a boat trailer and not to the frame with the supplied bracket? I had to mount the bracket back so far due to the clearance issue that it makes it hard to steer and crank. I would like to just hook it up to the hitch if possible. Thanks

Trailer Valet actually has a dolly/jack that is designed for attaching to the coupler like you mentioned. For that you'd want the part # TVXL25 for if you have a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball or part # TVXL2 for if you have a 2 inch hitch ball size.
