Hello Lee, thanks for reaching out. If air won't go in at all it could be a bad/clogged valve. You could also have a major leak somewhere. Have you tried a soap test to see if there are any leaks?
You did indeed see a video showing how to replace the vent lid #BVD0449-A01. I have linked that video for you here as well. IT was one that I made a while back and that is probably where you saw it.
In these days of customer "no service" I am usually disapointed when doing business with people I don't know. It was refreshing doing business with you. I'm impressed!

RV Vents and Fans with Butterfly Vent
Dial in airflow on your rig with a butterfly vent. These RV vents and fans make it easy to control ventilation on trailers, smokers, or utility builds with a simple cutout-and-screw install and a knob you can place where it works best. Choose polished aluminum or stainless steel to address rust concerns, and mount with the openings parallel to the ground for smooth flow that stays put over road vibrations.
Butterfly Vents are not waterproof, so avoid locations with direct spray. When set open or closed, friction in the assembly helps prevent movement from road vibration. They still open and close without much effort when you need to adjust airflow.
Check the Butterfly Vent's cutout diameter and mounting hole spacing in the product info; dimensions vary. A hole saw makes the cleanest cut. If the hole is too small the butterfly can rub the trailer wall. Choose screw type and length to suit your wall material.
Mount the vent so the triangular openings are parallel to the ground, with one facing forward and one rearward. The knob location isn't critical and can go on either side. This setup helps manage airflow while towing.
Choose stainless steel if rust is a concern. Polished aluminum options are available too. Some Butterfly Vents include a rubber gasket and mounting hole patterns can differ, so match the pattern to your existing holes when replacing.
