Is Intelli-Power Converter PD9260C Lithium Compatible?

Updated 12/10/2025 | Published 11/20/2025

Question:

I am installing lithium batteries on my fifth wheel. I currently have a Intelli-Power Coverter/ charger Model PD9260C on my RV. I have two questions: 1. Will this current model work with Lithium batteries? 2. if I need to install a new Intelli-Power convertor to charge lithium batteries, which model do you recommend?

Hello Marc, thanks for reaching out. The Intelli-Power converter/ charger Model PD9260C can only charge lead acid batteries, it will not work with lithium. That said, we do have a suitable replacement for this that is lithium compatible. For that I recommend the following:

- Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger - 12V - 60A # PD79RR

What kind of camper do you have?

Hey Marc, how did things go with the Progressive Dynamics 9300 converter for your fifth wheel? Did it charge your lithium batteries the way you needed? Your update could make it easier for others upgrading to lithium power.

The progressive Dynamics converters are known for their quality and durability. Swapping out the old OEM progressive dynamics lead acid convertor for the Progressive Dynamics 9300 was a breeze. The 9300 has the same foot print and cable hookups. Progressive Dynamic’s “Total Charge Management System” (TCMS) fully automatic advanced multi-stage charging allows for the the optimal charging profile for the battery type from lead acid to Lithium. I also like the feature of Reverse Battery Protection.

@Marc Thanks for sharing that, Marc. Great to hear the upgrade went smoothly and that the 9300 dropped right into place with the existing hookups. Progressive Dynamics really does make solid gear, and the TCMS system is a big plus when you’re switching between battery types. Glad the reverse battery protection and the whole setup are working well for you. Appreciate the detailed feedback!
