RV Step Covers for Straight Steps with 1 Step

Keep dirt outside and add traction with covers sized for straight steps. Built for a 1 step setup, they're easy to match by measuring your step's width and depth for the right wrap. Pick a softer texture for bare feet or a more aggressive weave if you want extra scraping power.
Measure the full width and the tread depth. Wraparound options for straight steps commonly fit 8" to 11" depths and around 23" widths, with 23-1/2" noted as the largest we've seen offered. On an 11" depth, the grommets may need to face outward to get a straight pull on the springs. If your step is wider, like 30", you may need a custom-sized cover or a different style rug.
Wraparound covers use grommets with springs and are pretty easy to install. A pair of pliers helps stretch the springs, and extenders can help on larger steps. Some rugs use adhesive Velcro strips for easy removal and washing. If springs feel tough to hook, ties can be used as an alternative.
Choose the texture based on feel vs cleaning. An "Outrigger" style provides a softer feel that's nicer on bare feet, while an "Astro turf" style would clean better and grab more dirt. Both add traction and help keep dirt out; if barefoot comfort matters, lean softer. Check seams periodically if you've had seam separation before.
Covers can work fine with electric steps. After installing, extend and retract the steps to confirm they operate as they should. If the pile seems too thick, adjust spring tension or try a thinner rug. Make sure nothing binds underneath when the step folds.
