Can ST225/75R15 Tires Replace Westlake ST235/75R15 Tires On Camper?
Updated 05/05/2021 | Published 05/04/2021 >
Question:
I have a single axle camping trailer that ways in at 3200 lbs UVW. Currently using Westlake ST235/75 R15 Load range C tires. I have over 8000 miles on these and will be adding an additional 6000 miles this year. What would be a suitable replacement for the current tires. I noticed some have a load range E. Would changing to the presumably heavier side wall tire be an issue. For me safety is more of a concern than price.

The Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303 would work just fine to replace the Westlake ST235/75R15 tires currently on your trailer but will be about 1/2" narrower and shorter.
The # AM10303 has a load rating of 2830lbs at 80PSI which is more than enough for your trailer with a 3200lb UVW.
There is nothing wrong with using a tire that is overrated for your trailer, as it will allow the tire to run cooler by using it at less than its maximum capacity. Since heat is a tires worse enemy this will keep the tire happy for years to come.
I included a video of the # 724857519 for you to take a look at.
