Measure your cutout and be ready to slightly enlarge if needed, then use butyl tape and non-sag sealant for a waterproof seal; basic measuring and cutting tools get it done.
Installation is straightforward with careful measuring and cutting. Use a drill and hand tools, mark and cut the opening, deburr edges, and fasten with appropriate screws. For a waterproof seal, apply butyl tape to the mounting flange and a non-sag sealant around the perimeter. Confirm the door closes and latches evenly after mounting.
Measure the existing cutout, not just the door face. Remove the inner frame if needed to get the true opening size and compare to the listed cutout and outside dimensions. You may need to slightly enlarge the opening for a proper fit. Also check if the screw hole pattern matches your current frame.
You'll see both key locks and plastic thumb latches that rotate without a key. Swapping a different lock into a thumb-latch style isn't guaranteed since the latch may not be removable and the door isn't designed for a standard lock core. If space is tight, check how far the lock protrudes inside. Verify how many keys are included.
Colors can vary by size, and black can be a flat finish rather than gloss. Check the listed color and finish to match nearby panels. If you want a different color like white, compare dimensions across versions in the same size range to see if an alternate finish is available.
