Hey Marcel,

There unfortunately isn't a plug-and-play wire harness available for your Workhorse chassis so you would have to go with a splice-in universal wire harness. I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195, which is going to come with one of these harnesses and you'll have to wire it in the following manner:

Black - To 12v power (vehicle battery) with an inline 30 amp circuit breaker # PK54530. You'll need a ring terminal # DW05705-1 to connect to the battery.

White - Ground to vehicle frame. There's usually a ground screw in the frame work under the dash that's green that you can use a ring terminal # DW05705-1 to connect to.

Blue - Runs out to the brake controller output pin on the 7-way.

Red - Splices into the cold side of the brake light switch. To find this wire you'll need to use a tester # PTW2993 to see which wire coming from the top of the brake pedal only has power when the brake pedal is being depressed. If this wire is thin gauge to safely splice into or you can't find it then you can supplement this signal with a stop light switch kit # RM-751000.

The Tekonsha P3 is arguably the easiest to use and most reliable brake controller on the market. Since it can easily disconnect from the wire harness you could also get the wiring and supplies needed to install it in another one of your vehicles and just swap it back and forth as needed.

Hey Marcel, how did things go wiring in the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 on your Workhorse? Were you able to locate the correct wire on the brake light switch for the red lead? Your update could make it easier for others working on similar setups.
