Recommendation to Tow 8K Trailer Level with 2024 Ford F-350 4" Lifted Truck
Updated 05/20/2024 | Published 05/16/2024 >
Question:
Hello, I just purchased a 2024 F350 limited. I had a wicked 4” lift installed with rims and tires. I tow a 20’ enclosed trailer bumber hitched NOT 5th wheel that weights about 3,000 pounds and my truck that goes in there is 5,000 pounds, so total load is roughly 8,000 pounds. The truck squats a little bit when the trailer is installed. I only tow this trailer about 5-10 times in the summer back and forth to the track. What do you recommend for my situation? Thank you.

Hey Vinny, thanks for reaching out!
Our rule of thumb is that when a trailer weighs at least half the curb (unloaded) weight of the tow vehicle, then a weight distribution system is warranted to keep the towing setup level. Since this is the case for your 2024 Ford F-350 I do recommend using a weight distribution hitch (WDH).
For your application I recommend checking out the 10K Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU87FR which is a pretty simple WDH and it comes with a shank that offers a 4-1/2" drop. You'll want to reference the linked article to see if this shank will work for you, or if you need help choosing a different one so the trailer sits level.
I'm attaching a review video of this system for you to reference.
