Excellent service from friendly and professional sales personnel. Fast shipping by their operations team, and my order arrived earlier than promised. What a great experience in this era when most companies’ customer service is pretty dismal! Thanks etrailer, you exceeded my expectations.

Very well

Part doesn't fit with bx88418 (2 1/2 receiver adjustable drop receiver add-on. I was told receiver bx88418 would fit fastway hitch which it doesn't so I ordered BLU26fr (above)and it doesn't fit that. lots of money spent, misinformation twice and time trying to get what I need.

by:

Fits receiver very snug. No more need for receiver adapter. Well made and exactly what I needed to haul our camper more safely. Highly recommend this shank if you have a 2-1/2" receiver.

by:

Great technical advice. I ordered late in the day and it still shipped that day. As always great service from the etrailer team!

by:

Very heavy/durable Shank!

by:

Arrived 2 days after it was ordered, packaged perfectly. Customer service was very friendly, efficient when I called for delivery address correction, ( they do not deliver to P.O. BOX ).
Shank is top quality, and fit perfectly to the rest of the Blue Ox Weight Distributing Hitch.

by:

This was exactly what I needed. The 2.5” shank makes it easier to install and remove from the truck, without the adapter. It’s a tighter fit without the adapter as well, so less rattle. It also dropped my trailer about 2 more inches from my previous 5-hole receiver, which makes the trailer almost perfectly level behind my 2017 Ram 2500 4x4. Shipping from eTrailer was free and ridiculously fast!

by:

Excellent service and knowledgeable help picking the proper hardware. Care was taken to make tracking available. Thanks for your help.

by:

It just arrived. It was heavy. Give me a break I haven't even opened it yet.

I like the hitch and it works great with my '07 Tundra and 27' Travel Trailer. It makes the two feel like you're driving a single vehicle and Cross winds and buffeting from passing semi's is virtually unnoticeable. Unfortunately, the Powder coating leaves a bit to be desired and warrants a significant mark down in the rating.

Pros: Easy of installation and hooking up the hitch. Adjustments are also very simple.

Cons: The "Powder Coating" is atrocious. It showed up flaking out of the box and just continued flaking during the installation. So, it started immediately surface rusting. I didn't think it worth returning and I guess I will just touch it up with spray paint as needed. Powder coating should be significantly tougher than what I see on this hitch. If it wasn't for this I would absolutely give it 5 stars. In the picture with the 2 bolts is the most obvious example of the flaking powder coat.

by:

First my truck and trailer sit and travel LEVEL, and I am pleased with the hitch after loosing one of the original “pins” while traveling(these are the pins that keep the sway bars on L brackets). I ordered the replacement “Pins” Now after a couple thousand miles, I do like how stable the truck and trailer are when other vehicles pass, the side push pull is much less. If the hitch came with the replacement “Pins” this would be a 5 Star Review.

I bought this in April '22 for our new trailer. The second day of our trip to Alaska, one of the Retaining Keys with the cotter pin fell off. It was while hooking up to our campsite that we saw it was gone and the spring bar bar had been free of mooring. Luckily we had a C Bolt and duck tape to hold the one sway bar without the retaining key and taped up the other to make sure it didn't fall off on the rest of our journey. When we called Blue Ox they sent two day to AK the two packages of the retaining key w/step. These turned out different than the ones that came on the TracPro and are thicker and shorter - I think these were suppose to come with the TracPro WD/Sway and should have been in the package when we got it. There is too much play between the sring bar and the L Bracket with the Retaining key that was in our order. Pictures for reference. If you order the Blue Ox TracPro, call make and sure you get the correct Retaining Keys with it, you should not have to buy them separately.

by:

Bought this to reduce rear sag in truck and you would think installing is pretty common sense but apparently it isn't. Instructions aren't very clear and since sad didn't go away at all, I'm guessing it isn't installed correctly. Instructions need to be MORE clear than they are otherwise you'll need to pay a professional to install it as I have no idea if it's correct or not.

by:

Easy to install haven’t driven the truck yet, but it seems to be doing exactly what it needs too.

Trailer hooked up with the blue ox the rear of the truck sits 4” higher than without. The nose drops about 3/4” compared to no blue ox. Massive difference in the right direction.

The photos are a 2021 4Runner no extra load in the back. Trailers 17’ ~3,500lbs max. I believe about a 350lb tongue weight and was mostly un-loaded.

by:

the only problem I had was when the UPS man picked up the box all the nuts, bolts and hair pins fell out. other than that, I have received accurate advice as for the purchase and i am very happy with the hitch and its quality. easy to set yp and sturdy. tows great

by:

This thing is amazing! I bought this to haul my 24’ car (toy) hauler behind my 03 Suburban which has coil springs instead of leaf springs. This hitch has made a world of difference. I honestly was shocked at the difference it made. It almost feels like I’m not hauling a trailer at all.

by:

The TrackPro parts list listed items 14 and 15 as 2-5/16" and 2" Hitch balls respectively, only the 2-5/16" ball was included and I needed the 2" hitch ball. Now I'm having to have the 2-5/16" hitch ball removed from the underslung hitch head assembly and get a 2" hitch ball attached. Looking forward to getting it all hooked up, I do expect a great improvement in the towing experience.

by:

I was told to purchase Blue Ox WDH from a friend. It seems to be very well built easier to attach and back up with still attached to trailer. Also seems to be smoother/quieter then other brands. It must be because of the load bars shape.

by:

The difference with and without the Blue Ox is dramatic.
I pull a 25' Airstream with a 2011 Porsche Cayenne with a 3.6 liter 6 cylinder.

The Blue Ox balances the Cayenne to a degree that I didn't think was possible.

This hitch needs to be the first thing you buy when you get an RV.

Works well. It's my first time with a distribution hitch, so I've no basis for comparison. I tow a 7200# 30' trailer with a 2007 F-150 (full-timer). It took a few trips to the scales to get things right, since I'm very close to my weight limits. Product arrived without the receiver (damaged box). Etrailer was very quick to provide replacement.

On assembly, I discovered that it was sent with incorrect mounting plates. Blue Ox expedited a parts kit. Overall, it seems to work well. I still have to be careful with wind, or I get pushed around on the road. It's mostly a non-issue.

I've traveled about 5-6K miles, and there is some noticeable wear, scoring, and rust developing where the torsion bars meet the trailer. These parts should be easily replaceable, as long as they're still manufactured. You may want to consider spares once you confirm that you have the correct bars. The friction points can develop metal splinters.

The pivots started showing wear after a long stretch of bouncy highway in Iowa. It was within the 1st 1000 miles, so I'll count this as break-in. I just readjusted the mounting point on the trailer at an overnight stop. I haven't had to adjust it since. The slop in the bushings makes for a greasy mess.

Wear gloves and put a plastic bag over the receiver when you remove it, or you're going to get greasy. Also, be careful of how low the receiver hangs down. I've caught it twice in uneven parking lots. I'm leaving it long, since it helps protect the tongue jack.

It meets expectation. Etrailer and Blue Ox provided excellent customer service. I still took one star, since I was on a deadline with work, and my plans got pushed back two weeks because of this. It shouldn't have happened in the first place, but the customer service from both parties was fantastic.

Just
Drove from Colorado to Oregon.
It worked better than our old one. Barely felt the big rigs as they went by.

by:

These were easy to install on our 2021 Cherokee Wolf Pup trailer. The sway control is very good and the towing is now a very smooth safe ride. Backing is very easy. The only drawback is we have to raise the trailer tongue and truck pretty high with the jack to get them on easily. Lots of tension on the bars. Safety and smooth towing is why we purchased and for this i would recommend purchasing.

by:

Hello, The weight distribution seems to work fine. We took our traveler trailer on 2 trips since purchasing the trailer hitch and all the accessories. The sway is just frightening. We have not had any real wind, this was in May and July of this year. But super scary, and when a tractor trailer passes us, even just one, forget it. We are towing with a big Ford Expition also. I would not recommend this model. It was expensive and we will have to figure out what we are going to replace it with. Gil

The Curt # C17131 weight distribution shank would be a good choice that would be compatible with your system. It will provide the industry standard 1-1/4 inch bolt hole spacing that would allow the weight distribution head height to be adjusted anywhere from a maximum rise of 6 inches to a maximum drop of 2 inches. I've linked to a product video for the shank I recommended.

Yes, it will. The Blue Ox Weight Distribution Shank item # BLU26FR that you referenced uses the same bolt pattern as the Reese 66074 weight distribution head. The Blue Ox item # BLU26FR fits a 2-1/2" receiver, is 9" long when measured from the center hitch pin hole to center of the adjustment holes, and has a maximum rise of 10-1/2" or drop of 4-1/2".

Your math is correct. Since the distance between the mounting holes of the Blue Ox weight distribution shank part # BLU26FR is the standard 1-1/4 inch and there is a total of 9 holes that would mean that there is 10 inches between the top and bottom hole measured on center. The difference between the # BLU26FR and the # BXW4028 is basically non-existant but one comes with the TrackPro Systems and the other the SwayPro.
