Best Lift Assist Carrier for Stand-Up Paddle Board

We do have a great option for you, though the Thule Hullavator Pro # TH898 would not work with a paddle board because it would not be tall enough. The J-style of the Hullavator's cradles has tie-downs on top and a SUP does not have the height for it to be secured.
Instead, the best lift assist for your SUP is the Yakima ShowDown Kayak or SUP Carrier and Lift Assist w/ Tie-Downs # Y04081 because it actually comes with saddles for your paddle board, as you can see by the cut out of the instruction manual I added. The other great thing about the ShowDown is that it can even hold your paddles with the Yakima TopGrip Brackets # Y04086, which will attach directly to the ShowDown, saving you even more space in your vehicle.
Additionally, I strongly recommend adding Yakima Lock Cores # Y07202 to lock the ShowDown to your crossbars and protect your investment.
The only thing to note with the ShowDown # Y04081 is that it does require your vehicle's crossbars to be at least 24" apart and they also need to extend 3-1/2" past the rack's towers (or feet). It is also important to note that the ShowDown is not compatible with roof racks that clamp on to a vehicle's door jambs.
If you happen to have a roof rack which clamps onto your door jambs there would not be a carrier that has lift assist so you'd need a standard carrier, the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier # LR54FR or SUPDawg Carrier # Y04075.
