Modulite Protector with Integrated Circuit & Overload Protection, Hardwire Kit and Tester

Nice product. Works as intended. Only problem is the lack of a mounting bracket. The plastic case has a slot molded in for a bracket - but no bracket is included! A couple of adhesive mounting tabs and cable ties might hold it, but I wouldn't risk the consequences of dragging it down the road when it falls off. I made up the aluminum bracket that should have been included.

Works great. I have a very tricky install due to a large bundle of wires and finding the right connections. Tailgate lights function differently between being open and closed. Had no issues once installed.

  • Parts Needed for A 8.5' x 16.7' Toy Hauler Trailer
Hey Lyle, I'd be happy to help you. What exactly are you trying to do? I see you're looking at trailer wire harnesses for vehicles, which would transfer your traffic signals back to the trailer. Are you needing that for your vehicle or are you needing the trailer's side of the wiring harness?

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights Not Functioning on a 2009 Honda Pilot
Depends on the amperage draw of your trailer running lights and what the license plate light circuit or running light circuit of your 2009 Honda Pilot is rated for. If the taillight circuit of your Pilot can handle the additional draw of your trailer running lights you might be okay for a temporary situation like getting back home so that you can fix it. But I would not recommend this as a permanent solution as you could blow some fuses or damage wiring. You might first check the trailer...

  • Parts Needed for Towing a Boat Trailer with a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13294 is a great choice for your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. The receiver has a 2" square opening and is rated for up to 750lbs of tongue weight and a trailer weight up to 7,500lbs. Be sure to not exceed any weight ratings given from Mercedes on your GLE. Instead of using the Curt 4-Way # C59496 I recommend using the Tekonsha 5-Way Flat # 119177KIT. This kit allows you to draw power from the vehicle battery for the tail lights and reverse lights unlike...

  • Backup Light Connection For Activation of Surge Coupler Backup Solenoid on a Toyota Tundra
There are two options for energizing the backup solenoid on your trailer to allow you to backup. The first is an adapter like you mentioned. The 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter, # 20036, is designed to be easily installed and removed once the blue wire is spliced into the vehicles reverse light circuit, behind one of the rear tail lights. A circuit tester, # 3808 if needed, is required to determine the correct wire to splice the blue wire to. The second option is to use a 5-Way...

  • Wiring Stop Tail and Turn Signal Lights on a Motorcycle with Separate Turn Signals and Brake Lights
So it sounds like on the motorcycle you have working turn signals, brake lights, and tail lights. So you just need the proper converter to go from the separate signals to combined. You can use converter # RM-732. This is a non-powered converter that will take the separate brake and turn signals and combine them. You would attach the bike brake light wire to the red wire on the harness. Attach the motorcycle left turn signal wire to the harness yellow wire. Connect motorcycle right turn...

  • Adding a 7-Way for Lights and Battery Charge to a 1998 Toyota 4Runner
There are a couple of parts you will need to get the 7-Way connector you have working on your 1998 Toyota 4Runner. First you will need to install a harness for the lights on the trailer. For that use # 118341. The output side of this harness has a 4-Way flat connector. If the 7-Way you have has a mating 4-Way then you would just plug the two in together. If not then you would cut the 4-Way off and hardwire the wires to the 7-Way. White is ground, brown is running lights, green is right...

I can help you figure out which wire you will need to use, but I do not know which color wire you would need. Since your reverse lights are in the rear hatch of your 2014 Toyota Sienna you will want to find test the wires that are in the rubber wire loom that should be at the top of the hatch between the door and the threshold for the door. In that loom there should be the circuit that has the reverse light circuit. Once you find it there you can then take apart the inside interior pieces...

  • Adding Trailer Wiring to a 2009 Suzuki Boulevard C90T Motorcycle to Tow a Trailer
First, you are going to want to determine the functions of the 5-Way connector on the trailer in order to find a wiring solution that will be compatible. Motorcycles have separate turn signals and brake lights. If the trailer also has separate turn signals and brake lights, making a wiring harness will be easy. You can just use a 5-Way harness like # HM37908. You will have to wire it to the bike by function to match the function on the trailer 5-Way. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993...

The difference between the Modulite Power Converter 5-Way Flat part # 119177KIT and the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 119250KIT is that the ZCI kit has clamp on sensors that receive signal from the tail light wires without actually splicing into them whereas the Modulite kit will need to physically splice into the wires in order to receive a signal from the tail lights. The ZCI kit also has a 4-way trailer connector and the Modulite has a 5-way trailer connector. However,...

  • Adding a 5-Way Trailer Connector to a 1999 Toyota 4Runner
I am not sure why the 4-Way on your 1999 Toyota 4Runner does not have the brake light circuit already. Normally on a 4-Way flat trailer connector, the brake light signal is combined with the turn signals for each side. If your wiring harness does not have this set up then you do not want to splice in a wire from the brake light circuit because that would cause both trailer lights to blink with either turn signal on. I have the perfect solution for you. You can install a 5-Way flat converter,...
